    Presales questions:

1- I’m looking to have a vendor site with vendors only paying the site admin on per monthly subscription, starting with free trial which than automatically moves to recurring paid plan. Is this feature going to be added?

2- Also with frontend product submission can we use frontend product manager?

3- Commission – i will not be charging my vendors any commission as it will be subscription based model so if commission is turned to ‘zero’ will this work? Or another solution?

1.) That’s a feature we do want to add, but it is not going to be till the end of this year or in January.

2.) I don’t know. That’s not our plugin, but I dont see a reason why it wouldn’t work. Seems a lot redundant, though!

3.) Sure, just set commission rate to “0”.

    Hello Ben,

Ive returned to have an update on the pro version with regards to the subscriptions feature- my original question number 1 which was expected to be available in Jan16.

We’re still working on other features first, such as variable and attributes as well as bookings support. No plans to add Subscriptions support, however you can add the fields to the add/edit product form yourself at any time, or hire a third party dev to do it for you.

    Cheers

When will attributes and variables be ready- I know you’ve stated in version 1.3 but it doesn’t mean anything to me as it can be next month or next year. An estimate would be appreciative in terms of planing my project.

With regards to subscriptions can I use woothemes or any other subscription plugin with WC vendors? Bear in mind I’m not a developer so need basic breakdown in understanding.

    Thankyou.

When it’s done being coded it’ll be released. We work on our plugins *every day* and have for a few years now. Will it be within the year? Hell yes, it will. ๐Ÿ™‚ Will it be within the month? I sure hope so. When exactly? When it’s done.

    Hello Ben,

Thankyou for the reply which is more like a riddle rather than a concrete answer.. Which is disappointing.

You still didn’t answer my question about subscriptions plugins?

Any chance a can have a straight forward answer please..

It’s a riddle, as you call it, because you’re asking for an answer we don’t have. If we knew the exact date it would be released, we’d tell you. ๐Ÿ™‚

The answer is — maybe. The first part is pretty easy, and that is adding the form fields to the add/edit product form with the Subscriptions as the product type. The second part is ensuring that at renewal, the vendors receive the correct commission, which is the answer we do not know yet. You’d want to experiment by:

1.) Adding a subscription product as an admin
2.) Changing the product you just added to be owned by a vendor
    3.) Buy it
    4.) Let it renew
5.) Inspect the commission table. Do you see the commission for #3 and #4 being shown to the vendor? If yes, then we can do it.

So just to clarify. Even though WC vendors pro is using woocommerce as a base the plugins they (woothemes) sell will not be compatible incase I want to add further functionality?

    That is incorrect.

The correct statement would be, that WC Vendors Pro front end add/edit product form is configured for the default product types that come with WooCommerce. Any additional would have to be coded into the add/edit product template for use on your site.

Ok so it is possible to add woothemes plugins but with slight customisation of templates to integrate.

I think better to ask you before going down that route to get better feedback.

    Thankyou very helpful.

    Ben,

If I am following correctly, it’s not a feature of WC Vendors Pro to just charge vendors a flat monthly fee correct?

I am just trying to find a plugin that allows our vendors as they signup and are approved to pay a flat monthly fee for as long as they remain a vendor on our site.

    Scott,

There’s no magical solution for this, because there’s sooooo many different things you can do. The one I’ve used in the past is WooCommerce Groups. You create a product that is the vendors membership, say $99, and once they buy it, it adds them to the “Paid Vendors” group (or whatever you want to call it). Then, you restrict access to /dashboard/ page to only Paid Vendors group.

That’s just one way to do it. There’s a hundred others. Search our forums for “Groups”, “Paid Memberships” and things like that.

    Cheers

A magical solution would be to have it as an option to activate this within the WC vendors pro core.! In the near future sometime ๐Ÿ™‚
