I am not sue why this is happening; you can manually update, though. And I always notify everyone of Pro updates in this thread: https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/pro-updates/ So if you subscribe to that thread, you will know when a new update is ready.
To manually update:
1. go to your account here > downloads. download the latest zip file version of WC Vendors Pro. Make sure you also have the latest WC Vendors free installed (1.9.8 at the time of writing this). https://www.wcvendors.com/my-account/downloads/
2. Back up your site (you should be doing this anyway) for safe measure
3. Deactivate and then delete your current version of Pro. It will not erase your data or settings- those are stored in your Database.
4. Install the zip file you downloaded of the latest Pro version.
