    Hi,

    I’m sorry if this had been asked before. I have a problem with email sent twice with new product submitted notification email. I did a search and get https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/receiving-duplicate-email-notifications-for-new-product-submission/. I have followed debug guide – disabling all plugin except wc vendors and woocommerce. Woocommerce system status all ok. All other email sent as it should be, its just the new product submitted notification is sent twice. Any thought?

    Make sure you’re updated to Free v1.8.9 and Pro v1.3.1 or newer. That bug was fixed in the last release. 🙂 If you find, after updating, that it was not, please provide steps for us to replicate the issue and we’ll go from there!

    Hi ben,

    I’m using wcvendors free 1.8.9 and wcvendors pro 1.3.1. I’m sorry but i dont know how to replicate the issues as the email is sending twice whenever i submit a product.

    Well, just write down what you’re doing step by step. Example:

    1.) As a vendor, I login and add a product.
    2.) It is sent to admin for approval.
    3.) Admin approves it.
    4.) I check my email and I have 309123091203901239 emails which is weird because that takes up a lot of space

    You know, just like you’d take your car to a mechanic, gotta tell the mechanic what is going on and what you’ve done to notice it. 🙂

    Hi ben,

    Here is my try :

    1.) As a vendor, I login and add a product.
    2.) It is pending until admin approve it.
    2.) Admin received an email sent for product submitted notification.
    3.) I check it and it is sent twice.
    4.) Login as another vendor and add another product.
    5.) It is pending until admin approve it as it should be.
    6.) Admin received an email sent for product submitted notification.
    7.) I check it and it is sent twice again.
    8.) Change wc vendors free Capabilities : [x] Edit Live Products and [x] Submit Products Live Without Requiring Approval. wc vendors pro : [x] Publish edits to approved products.
    9.) Add product as vendor, product published.
    10.) No email sent to admin
    11.) Change back wc vendors free Capabilities : [ ] Edit Live Products and [ ] Submit Products Live Without Requiring Approval. wc vendors pro : [ ] Publish edits to approved products.
    12.) Add product as vendors, product pending for review.
    13.) Email sent twice to admin for product submitted notification.

    Any thought ben?

    wcvendor 1.9.1 free have the some problem

    Marcello: Can you provide a step by step instruction for us to re-create this issue for you? We’re not seeing it at all on our end. Do make sure you test this with just WC Vendors Free, Pro, and WooCommerce enabled, no other plugins.

    Hi, I’ve just purchased and installed WC Vendors & Pro (2 days ago) and I’m running it with the Handy Theme. I’m actually getting THREE ‘Product Submitted’ emails sent to the store administrator every time a vendor submits a product for approval.

    So this is not an isolated incident – has there been any progress getting to the bottom of this issue and any suggested fixes?

    Further on this issue…
    I did deactivated all plugins barring WooCommerce, WC Vendors and WC Vendors Pro, and the the problem persisted – receiving 3 mails for every product submitted by a vendor.
    I also installed/activated the Storefront theme (I was convinced at this point it was an issue with the Handy theme), but this didn’t resolve the issue either. With the Storefront theme, I still get 3 ‘Product Submitted’ emails whenever a vendor adds a product.

    RE Console Errors – I do get a ‘timymce is not defined’ JS error on the WP Dashboard – which is generated by the iffy pagebuilder that comes with Handy. But obviously no JS errors when I disabled all plugins except for the big 3 – so thats not an issue.

    Hmmm, I’m assuming that WC Vendors calls a WooCommerce ‘action’ hook to send these emails? What is it? (I’ll have a dig around the WCV plugin code myself and see if anything obvious pops out and where this action is called).

    Hi, regarding support on the WC Vendors Pro product which I purchased…
    On the whole the WC Vendors Pro plugin is pretty good – just a couple of minor niggles I’l like some help with – the duplicate emails being one of them.

    Is there a support package that much be purchased additionally to the WC Vendors Pro plugin in order to obtain support response for the plugin? And if so, how much is it?

    Sian,
    I am sorry I missed your previous support question. I will try and help you with this issue now.

    I see that you have already gone through some of the initial steps (deactivated plugins, storefront theme, etc) and the duplicate emails are still happening.

    Can you simply try disabling the email, save… then re-enabling the email, save.. and test? Please let me know if this works.
    If not, we will look into this further.

    Hi Anna,

    Thanks for the reply.
    I disabled the ‘Vendor Application’ email and then re-enabled it, and this worked fine – thank you.
    (obviously something you have come across before 😉 )

    BUT,
    Am having the same issue on the ‘New Vendor Product’ emails – each time a vendor adds a product I get two emails sent to the WP Admin. I have tried this approach (disabling the email and then re-enabling the email) but it doesn’t work for these emails. I still get 2 emails every time a vendor adds a product.

    This could prove more irritating than the ‘Vendor Application’ emails as these will be more frequent.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
    Are you running any other plugins that might be interacting or conflicting with the woocommerce emails?
    You can also reply with your woocommerce system status report: wp-admin > woocommerce > system status

    Does this happen when you have disabled all plugins except woocommerce, wc vendors, wc vendors pro and using the storefront theme?

    Ok I have tried disabling all plugins (except WooCommerce, WC Vendors & WC Vendors Pro), and Activating the StoreFront theme, but when a Vendor adds a product the Admin stills get 2 ‘New Product’ notification emails.

    I did not get the attached file. If you could reply with the woocommerce system status that’d be helpful.

    I am at a loss right now.. you have done testing & if you are running the most current versions and free & pro, and still having this issue.. then I will bring this to Ben & Jamie and see if they have any ideas as to what could be causing the duplicate emails.

    Hi Anna,
    I’ve attached the WooCommerce System Status report as a JPEG image.
    (attempts to attach as a ‘MS Word’ or Text file failed with a ‘file-type not supported’ message.

    Regarding the duplicated sending of ‘New Product Notification’ emails – is there a WordPress Action call that triggers this? If so then we could search for duplicate instances of this action call?

    Hi Jamie,
    Nope – no other emails are being duplicated. The WooCommerce emails are fine as are the other 3 WCV emails (‘Notify Vendors’, ‘Vendor Application’ & ‘Vendor Has Shipped’) are all fine – only a single copy is received.

    I did have an issue with the ‘Vendor Application’ emails – they were being sent THREE times to the site admin. But Anna’s tip about going into ‘WooCommerce->Settings->Emails’ and disabling that email type and re-enabling it sorted this problem out. I of course also tried this with ‘New Vendor Product’ email but this didn’t resolve the issue.

    And you have probably also seen in this post, that I have disabled all the plugins (except WCV, WCV Pro & WooComm), activated the StoreFront theme and went through the process of a vendor adding a new product. The admin still received duplicated emails.

    I can give you access to the site if you want?
    Otherwise if you could tell me if a particular WP ‘Action’ gets fired to send the ‘Nev Vendor Product’ emails, I can have a look to see if this is called from multiple files?

    FYI. I also today upgraded WCV Pro from 1.3.3 to 1.3.4 – but this didn’t resolve the issue.

    Sian, this would be a tough one for me to test– otherwise I would login. Overall, if you have gone through the standard testing that we have talked about back and forth– then I am truly stumped. I will try and get the proper hook info for you so you can take a look and see if somehow it was duplicated on your site, or is calling more than once.

    The email information is almost all coming form the wc vendors free , not Pro.
    Here is where the code for the notify admin emails originate:
    wp-content/plugins/wc-vendors/classes/admin/emails/class-wc-notfiy-admin.php

    Perhaps check your settings for the vendor in your wp admin > woocommerce > wc vendors
    Do you have it set for the product to be approved or need approval? Do you allow the vendors to publish products without approval?
    There are triggers for this email that look to be affected by how you have these permissions set. Perhaps changing these or re-saving these settings will stop this duplicate email.

    Hi Anna, did some digging around and nothing else (theme or plugins) is hooking into ‘transition_post_status’. WooCommerce itself does, but does nothing related to emails at all.

    But I have found a solution, but not ideal.
    Within ‘WC Vendors’ I commented out line 40 in /classes/admin/emails/class-emails.php:
    if ( $from != $to && $post->post_status == ‘pending’ && WCV_Vendors::is_vendor( $post->post_author ) && $post->post_type == ‘product’ ) {
    $mails = $woocommerce->mailer()->get_emails();
    if ( !empty( $mails ) ) {
    // $mails[ ‘WC_Email_Notify_Admin’ ]->trigger( $post->post_id, $post );
    }
    }
    This solves the problem, and now only a single email is sent out for new product notification. But obviously when I update the WC Vendors in the future this change will be lost.

    Also doing a string search for ‘WC_Email_Notify_Admin’ within plugins and themes folders only produces 2 results: class-emails.php and class-wc-notify-admin.php
    So I cannot see how this email is now being sent now at all!! (now that I’ve commented out this line in the plugin file). But I will continue to dig into it (it’s bugging me now) and will let you know if I find a better solution.

    Hi Anna,
    Ok ignore my last post – it seems to have gone a bit ‘pear-shaped’ 😉

    Some further investigation – in ‘class-wc-notify-admin.php’, are lines 39 and 40 necessary?
    add_action( ‘pending_product’, array( $this, ‘trigger’ ), 10, 2 );
    add_action( ‘pending_product_variation’, array( $this, ‘trigger’ ), 10, 2 );

    If I comment out these 2 lines and leave ‘class-emails.php’ in its original form, then I also only get a single notification email (no duplicates).

    Line 40 of ‘class-emails.php’:
    $mails[ ‘WC_Email_Notify_Admin’ ]->trigger( $post->post_id, $post );
    Fires off the ‘trigger’ function which sends the email when the product posts status changes to ‘pending’ – so possibly the two ‘add_action’ lines are not required?
    (‘pending_product’ & ‘pending_product_variation’ hooks are not present within WooCommerce or WordPress)

    I’m following up on above. I’ve done it all: read everything, ran woo test, disabled plugins, change theme, etc.

    4 hours into the trouble shoot and no luck at all. Anything new from above on duplicate emails on new products?

    PS> The deactivate, save, reactivate trick from the commission % above works. Thanks Anna.

    Hi,

    Same problem here. 3 notifications to admin when a vendor submit a product for approbation.

    I tried to play with:
    – woocommerce new product notification on/off
    – woocmmerce new product notification email field
    – wc vendor, new product needs approval on/off
    – wc vendor, vendor can submit new product on/off (not sure this one works by the way since a vendor can always submit product whatever this setting is)

    Did i miss something?

    This is such a bazaar bug, and only happening for a few users. I will do some more testing on this and see if I can root out a bug or a common factor causing this trifecta of emails.
    If anyone who has this happening would please share their WooCommerce System Status in a reply, it will help us work with this.

    Hello,
    I have tried and tried to recreate this- I have even installed some of the email plugins– I cannot make it happen. I cannot make the duplicate email occur on any of my installs, which makes it very difficult to narrow down why this is occurring. It DOES seem to occur for a select few people, and not the majority of others.
    When I have brought this issue to my team they have responded that there is likely another plugin interfering with emails- so if you have any plugin that deals with emails at all, please deactivate that plugin and test to see if that clears up the issue.
    Otherwise– I will mark this as still unresolved and see if I can re-open the issue so that it can be further looked into.
    I know this is likely annoying to have duplicate emails, and I will keep trying to find out what is the cause of this issue.

    Not a plugin conflict from our testing here, and the only two we’re using are Gravity Forms and SendGrid

    I agree with Shaan,

    We have deactivated all plugins apart from woocommerce, wc vendors, and wc vendors pro and we are still seeing the duplicate email issue.

    Just to let you know I also have the same issue, I get 3 mails when a vendor adds a product. J

    Fro months I (we) have tried to make this happen on dev sites- cannot make it happen.
    Therefore, we do not know how to debug the issue.
    I am suspecting that this is on the server side.
    This only occurs on some sites… please check with your host/server to see what email settings may be causing this issue.
