    Hi,

    I’m going round in circles and getting super dizzy!

    Is it better to
    A) use a theme that has the functionality needed (Listify, Listable) but needs seemingly constant work to resolve conflicts with Pro? or
    B) go with a theme that works perfectly with Pro (Social Marketplace) but needs god knows how much work and added plugins to get the functionality needed?

    My site http://dv.themakeupchair.com.au lets customers find and book mobile service providers in their area.

    I started with Listify, but it wasn’t playing nicely with Pro. Then Tried Social Marketplace but it doesn’t have the location search and it focuses on the products rather than the vendor. Then went back to Listify and tried Product Vendor and wasted months and money trying to get it to do stuff it says it is supposed to do but doesn’t. Then came back to Listify + Pro but keep coming up against constant conflicts.

    Cheers
    Pippa

    @Pippa,
    That’s a tough question. I struggled with this one myself. 😉

    In what way(s) is Pro conflicting with Listify? What issues have occurred, and have they been resolved?
    If you are pleased with Listify, and eventually (not too long from now) Wc Vendors PRO will support bookings, perhaps we can try and work with some of the conflicts you are having and see if they can be worked through.

    I use Social Marketplace and like it very much for my business.. but that is not to say that it is the best foundation for yours. Listify supports and is integrated with much of the key needs for your business,it seems. That being said, I am sure that theme could also be worked with to suit your business better than it does at present.

    Could you please describe the conflicts/issues you’ve been having with Pro and Listify?

    @Pippa

    I have the same issue. I have worked with my site for months and then Listify updates their theme and the Wcvendors and Listify are no longer working together! Not good 🙁

    Contacts with support have so far not solved this.

    Have you found any solution? How are you going forward now?

    Regards
    Karl

    Hello,

    For location search will Shane from Philopress new plugin WC Vendors Maps – http://www.philopress.com/products/wc-vendors-maps/ give you some of the needed functionality? With regards to keeping things up to date, I would go with pro + compatible theme as opposed to functionality and chasing your tail all the time. I have gone down the theme functionality over plugin on a number of occasions and it was always bitten me in the ass. It’s fine if your theme devs are super responsive but if they aren’t, you’re stuck with old versions of things. If you need a few key things that the theme doesn’t solve I would look into getting a custom job done for the ‘glue’ from someone over at codeable.io Is it worth getting someone to make a glue/integration plugin for you? If it glues the right bits together you could probably even sell it afterwards ! You have to weigh up your time and the constantly not knowing which update is going to break what.

    cheers,

    Jamie

    We don’t recommend using WC Vendors @karl and @Pippa

    We have not added any support for WC Vendors into our Listify theme and soon to be released Eventify, I have reached out to Jamie Madden lead developer of WC Vendors but have never heard back from him, I was trying to see if he’d look at working with us.

    @digitchild
    Thanks Jamie. Yes that plugin is pretty good and it’s in my just in case pile.
    I really wish I had asked this question 10months ago 🙂 You have confirmed what others have said on other forums and as I have decided that WCV Pro is the most important element in my site, everything else will just have to play nice with it. I’m trying out ReVendor that uses GEO my Wp for the location search which is looking promising 🙂

    @karl
    check out ReVendor. https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/new-theme-with-extended-support-for-wc-vendor-free-and-wc-vendor-pro/ I’m almost at the end of my 12m support with Listify anyway so now is a good time to change. Listify is a great theme but without a compatible comparable multivendor plugin (don’t get me started on Product Vendors!!) it’s not the theme for me.
