Jason CyrParticipant
Sweeeeet…thank you!
Jason CyrParticipantIs it supposed to truncate the store description?
Jason CyrParticipantBoom…gone forever!
Thanks,
JCJason CyrParticipantBoom…worked perfectly, thanks!
Jason CyrParticipantI also just found this so we’ll see if it works?
Jason CyrParticipantTo be fair, I believe this is mostly an issue with iPhones or specifically exif. I’ve seen some posts in the little research I’ve done and I think the best way to handle this is have some kind of warning box near the image uploaded to tell people they need to properly edit the photos before they even make it to the Add Product screen. Good times…
Jason CyrParticipantLol…unfortunately it’s not her that’s going to be the problem, it’s all of her vendors who will probably be old ladies.
Jason CyrParticipantHey Ben…ok, so my client is concerned that during testing all of her images were rotated when they needed to be vertical. She took the pictures with her iPhone and once the product was created, all the images were rotated incorrectly even though they were correct on her computer when she uploaded them.
So, you’ve obviously explained above that it’s most certainly not a good idea to allow her vendors to edit their photos after uploading. My question to you is do you know if there’s a way to somehow integrate a better image uploading experience with your plugin via some customization? I’m thinking about reaching out to some very good developers I work with but want to get your opinion first. I would love for a better experience for the vendors but also make simple (crop, rotate) edits once the images are uploaded. I’m more or less just looking for a “yes, this is possible and any good dev can do it” or “no, you’re screwed.”
Thanks!
Jason CyrParticipantWord…I’ll submit a ticket to them. I see the light at the end of the tunnel for this project so thank you for all the support so far. Once we go live I’m hoping you never have to hear from me again. :0
Jason CyrParticipantAny hints what to look for to fix or light a fire under the theme developers arse to fix this? I know you loathe Flatsome and so am I but I’m too deep and my client loves it.
Jason CyrParticipantYeah, crossing this one off the list then. 😉 Thanks!
Jason CyrParticipantAhhh, yes…makes sense. It is a theme feature, not yours (which I thought it was). It’s a page template that I can select (using Flatsome theme which I know you loathe). Also, no peeking inside the dressing room. Yet.

February 26, 2016 at 2:51 pm in reply to: Sold products with quantity of 1 still showing, no orders displayed in dashboard #25015Jason CyrParticipantNo worries…that’s obviously waaay more important so I appreciate your response. In Woo I have “enable stock management” selected and it was set to hold stock for 20 minutes, I’ve now left it blank to disable it. I’ve also enabled “hide out of stock items from catalog” as well.
I was using your test gateway but I’m going to run some more tests and get back to you. If I have any issues I’ll give you admin access…thanks for the reply!
February 26, 2016 at 2:18 pm in reply to: Sold products with quantity of 1 still showing, no orders displayed in dashboard #25009Jason CyrParticipantHey guys…any thoughts on this? I’m a bit stressed about this since I’m trying to launch next week. Let me know if there’s any other troubleshooting steps I should take or you want admin access…
Jason CyrParticipantI’ll check it out…thanks!
February 25, 2016 at 11:50 am in reply to: Sold products with quantity of 1 still showing, no orders displayed in dashboard #24924Jason CyrParticipantI should also mention that as a buyer (when testing) I’m getting notifications that the sale has gone through so at least that seems to be working fine.
February 25, 2016 at 11:49 am in reply to: Sold products with quantity of 1 still showing, no orders displayed in dashboard #24923Jason CyrParticipantOk, so I set the product quantity to 5, made a purchase and the quantity is now 4. However, there still is not a sale showing in the user account. I went in as an admin and marked the sale from “pending” to “complete” and still nothing. I’ve disabled all plugins, all custom templates, functions.php in my child theme and still nothing. Ideally I need all products to be a quantity of 1 and when the person purchases a product it disappears on the front end and of course is reflected in the seller’s order tab. If you need to get in there and check things out just let me know.
Thanks Ben!
Jason CyrParticipantOh man…I usually don’t use ThemeForest themes all willy nilly but the client insisted and I did my due diligence and thought it was fairly decent. I’ll look for the Pro update…thanks!
JC
Jason CyrParticipantYes…I’m not opposed to telling a client no but I think this may be a decent feature request for you guys, maybe? Think about my client’s scenario…they simply want to get paid a certain amount per product in case that product never sells. This client is selling high end ballroom dresses (used) and her concern is that she’s creating this platform for people to post their dresses (initially, for free) and that they can share their products on forumns or wherever and then ultimately take that sale “offline” knowing they won’t have to give my client any money. By having a flat listing fee, my client has at least made something.
I’m interested in the Step 1 you outline above where you can create a custom field that would add a dollar amount per product a person has created. I’m curious if that could some how be used with an invoicing function of Woo?
Jason CyrParticipantHmmm…still doesn’t solve my client’s pain point about getting paid before a vendor posts a product. Looks like there’s no possible way to charge them on a per product basis during the product addition step so what I’m thinking short term is just having a Gravity Form in the vendor dashboard that allows the vendor to pay their listing fees taking that function away fro WooCommerce and using the GF Stripe add on. It won’t stop vendors from posting a product without paying but her business will be so small at first that it will only require a little more work on her part to manage this.
Everything was going swimmingly when she agreed that fee+commission after the sale was fine. Throwing me a curveball here!
Jason CyrParticipantOk…glad you caught that. Ideally a listing fee to insert a product would be golden and as you said earlier it’s something that you could do custom but we’re talking some decent cash to do this? Or just never gonna happen?
The reasoning behind this is my client is worried that someone may post a product and let’s say it sits for 3 months and doesn’t sell. She then gets no money for posting it on her site…if it sells then she’s golden and your plugin is perfect.
Jason CyrParticipantFound this shortly after I replied to you:
https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/listing-fee/
Looks like this may be a better way to accomplish what I’m trying to do which is ultimately charge them to list a product and then charge a commission once the product sells.
I assume the way you described it in the link above will still work for this?
Jason CyrParticipantHey Ben…realized I never replied to you on this. Trying to brainstorm any other way to charge vendors on a per product basis and just give them a percentage commish at the time of sale (rather than fee+commish). Any other way you can think of? I’m liking the membership idea as well…might have to be the answer for my client.
JC
Jason CyrParticipantAwesome…is this a file that I can also clone to my child theme and edit?
Jason CyrParticipantWhilst I have your attention…where is this text located (what template)?
http://screencast.com/t/uaEEd96WIlrD
I would like to have labels like this under each field to tell the vendors what each field is for. I don’t see that on the vendor-signup-form.php.
Thanks!
JC
Jason CyrParticipantI’ve only had 3 cups of coffee…cut me some slack on the reading comprehension. 😉
Thanks man!
Jason CyrParticipantGot it…for some reason my changes aren’t taking?
http://screencast.com/t/4cZrHBPnDD
I edit theme and plugins files on the regular and pretty sure the folder structure is correct but when I try to remove the social tab from the dashboard page nothing is happening.
Also, what’s the best way to add additional fields to the vendor reg page? I’m also wondering if I’m missing where I can modify some of these fields in the WP Admin?
http://screencast.com/t/zh8b6gGp33p0
Store description is duplicated for example and I have no idea why that’s happening?
Thanks!
JCJason CyrParticipantIf I can jump in here..can we at least force it to open a new tab?
