Hi, it was working fine before the upgrade so it is strange that it is not working now. I am using Paypal for payments. Here are the screenshots of my settings:

Instant pay is disabled but has always been disabled.

Yes, everything was working fine so didn’t feel the need to risk changing anything.

I should add that I am happy to pay for some support to get this fixed.

    Hi,

I had assumed that the store owner was the primary seller due to a Paypal limitation. Would be interested to hear what others think but having the store owner as the secondary seller makes a lot of sense? Would be great if there were plans to make this part of a future version (pro or otherwise).

I’d guess that most sellers only take a small fee, so being financially responsible for 100% of any chargeback, refund or dispute can be a significant challenge to the business model. Particularly as you are essentially unable to deal with any disputes without assistance from the vendor anyway as you won’t have any tracking info etc.

It also doesn’t incentive the right behaviours in the vendor – their is no incentive for them to take precautions to avoid chargebacks unlike in the eBay and Amazon model where they have financial responsibility.

I suppose the real decider though would be if Paypal stop approving applications where the store owner is the primary seller!

    Yes, it seems that way.

Hi, ok this seems to have fixed it. Thanks

    Hi,

I read it the opposite way around. They are saying you collect your fees as secondary recipient.

Seems pretty clear that they want me to be the secondary recipient?

    Hi,

The last date it worked on was 22nd April. I don’t know the exact date I upgraded but was pretty close to the release of the new version.

I’ll try downgrading – where can I get the earlier version from? Presumably I just remove the current plugin and reinstall?

    Hi,

I created a new Paypal App using the information from your Knowledgebase and received the following response from Paypal:

Before we proceed with our review, can you confirm that the seller will be the Primary recipient in the Chained payment & you will collect your fees as Secondary recipient? We will require you to set up the payment in this way so that the seller is the Merchant of Record in the case of any Chargebacks or Refunds.

So it sounds like they won’t approve my App unless can set up the vendor as the primary seller?

    Hi,

The issue I am having is that orders have stopped being updated to processing (they stay at pending_payment). I presume this is an IPN thing but wouldn’t know where to start debugging (other than the logs of course).

The only change I made was ticking “Instantly pay vendors their commission when an order is made” (but this is probably just coincidence).

    Hi,

+1 this. It creates a very strange user experience for the customer. Easiest solution would seem to be to add a separate side bar zone for vendors pages (or just remove it all together). Haven’t attempted this though.
