If your vendor isn’t appearing in the vendor list on your marketplace, it’s usually due to an incomplete or incorrect store setup.
Here are the most common reasons and how to fix them:
1. Store Name Is Missing or Not Set
The most common reason is that the vendor has not set a store name yet.
- The store name is required by default because it’s used to generate the shop slug (the unique URL for their store).
- This field is public and must be unique across all vendors.
- If it’s blank or duplicated, the vendor will not appear in the vendor list.
Solution:
- Log in as the vendor.
- Go to Vendor Dashboard > Settings > Store.
- Enter a unique store name and save the settings.
2. Vendor Status Is Pending
If the admin has not approved the vendor’s applications, they won’t show in the list.
Solution:
- Go to WordPress Admin > WC Vendors > All Vendors.
- Find the vendor account and ensure it’s approved as a vendor and has the Active status.
3. Vendor Has No Products (and the shortcode requires products)
If your marketplace uses the Vendor List shortcode with the has_products=”yes” attribute, only vendors with published products will appear.
Example shortcode:
[wcv_vendorslist orderby="registered" order="ASC" per_page="12" has_products="yes"]
Solution:
- Ask the vendor to add at least one published product.
- Or, remove has_products=”yes” from the shortcode to display all vendors regardless of whether they have products.
4. Caching Issues
If the store name was recently added, caching may prevent updates from showing immediately.
Solution:
- Clear your site cache and browser cache.
- If you’re using a caching plugin, purge all caches and refresh the page.
In summary, for a vendor to appear in the vendor list, they must have a unique store name, their store must be active and, if your shortcode requires it, have at least one published product. Since the store name is required by default, this is the first thing to check if a vendor isn’t showing up.
