    Hi Ben,

I hope I’m not wasting your time.

    ########### Proof of Work ############
    I’ve read https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/read-before-requesting-support/

I have read the following forum posts, but none solved my issue.

    The following was helpful:

Read several other posts that I can no longer track done.
########## End of Proof of Work ##########

    ######### Versions ##########
    Wordpress 4.3
    WooCommerce 2.4.6
    WC Vendors 1.7.7
    #############################

    ######### Actions Taken ###############
Installed on remote server initially. Moved to home linux installation to diagnose. Problem persisted.
Followed advice at https://www.wcvendors.com/knowledgebase/setting-permalinks/ but Product permalink base did not update and remained set to custom.
In WooCommerce / Settings / Products / Display changed option to Show Products. No resolution.
    ######## End Actions Taken #############

    ########## Resolution ##################
The following post suggested changing the vendors slug at “wp-admin->WooCommerce->WC Vendors” from nothing or forward slash (/) to ‘reseller’ resolved the issue.

    #######################################

    ########### Unresolved issue ###############
The permalinks still do not update properly. Product permalink base does not change from custom, no matter which option is selected and saved. I am not sure if this is a WC Vendors issue or not.
    ############################################

    ############## Suggestion ###################
Please place a note by the venders slug option at “wp-admin->WooCommerce->WC Vendors” to indicate that setting it blank will break the vendor shop permalinking. Or, change the implementation so that the slug may to set to blank without breaking the links.
    #############################################

    No action required. Thank you.

    Hi Paul,

Do you have a test vendor and is their shop_name set ? With regards to the product permalinks that’s woocommerce.

What is your standard permalink settings? Can you screenshot them please?

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Permalinks.
    Permalinks
It does not move from this setting. Perhaps you know the reason why, although at present it causes me no difficulty.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Affirmative on having a test vendor and the shop name being set. Though I resolved that issue fully by running through the different scenarios on the forum.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

    Hi Paul,

What are your common permalinks set to ? For this test environment I’m currently using I’ve set that to ‘post-name’ and left everything else as default and everything is working here.

Can you confirm what they are ?

    cheers,

    Jamie.

“The permalinks still do not update properly. Product permalink base does not change from custom, no matter which option is selected and saved. I am not sure if this is a WC Vendors issue or not.”

That’s actually working as intended. This is WooCommerce, not WC Vendors, of course. When you select a Permalink type, it saves them as a custom type.

/shop/%product_cat%/ as a custom type is the same exact thing as checking the “Shop base with category” option. And when you choose that, it saves as /shop/%product_cat%/ as a Custom type. It confused me a little at first too, but WooThemes has always done it that way. Why? Beats me. But it works nonetheless. 🙂

Thank you for the extended explanation Ben, it’s good to know this is the expected behavior. I guess what threw me was that it doesn’t match exactly. The option title “Shop base with Category” is crystal clear and gives exactly that in the “Custom” field (/shop/%product_cat%), but its description is:
    http://web.my/sandbox/shop/product-category/sample-product/
which to my mind should have yielded a “custom” field of:
    /shop/%product_cat%/product
based on the behavior of the other options.

Thank you for clearing things up for me.

P.S. Ok, after looking back at the menu, I realize that this is NOT what I should have expected, and ‘sample-product’ never generated any output in the custom field.
