just to add, we are using the pro version of user role editor, with pro version of wc vendors.

any role can have the vendor role assigned as a 2nd capability.

infact you can do many things with the pro version, like assign certain menus or content to any role you wish.

my guess would be something else is at play, Bens shown the theme works on wc vendors dev site… so the issue is not with vendors or your theme but something else.

turn off all plugins bar whats critical, so leave wc vendors free and wc vendors pro and your theme all active. does that fix it? if so its a plugin, turn on one by one now until you find the faulty one.

plugins often inject css or always php which can easily overwrite your theme.

otherwise have you edited any css. changed colours etc , can you click on the boxes or is it just aesthetics. hth

inspect the element, and it should say which css is responsible, my guess is and only a guess, pro is simply using your theme settings there or not for some reason using the vendor css. either way it should be easy to fix.

Drew, cracking post, but whats the best way to set up the dev site and pushes of updates even better. been wanting to set up a dev site with changes pushed over once tested, for ages, just kinda get lost in it all.

we are currently awaiting a separate server before setting ours up, always done everything live at silly hrs. i know i know very bad, but tbf im sure its how i learned most of what i know.

you could maybe add custom field/ or just put the locations in as attributes, then simply call a search by custom attribute type or field.

excellent stuff , i agree with Karen it would be so awesome 🙂

so im glad to see its not just on the cards but planned. its every bit being in place, that is pulling this plugin together bit by bit, shipping is as fundamental as refunds and complaints.

also, and a little testing today,, the admins can issue a refund from woocommerce orders page assuming vendors not been paid, Ben cant believe you didn’t notice and tell me that lol. some how i missed that before my post, but glad i did 🙂

so il conclude by some suggestions, much similar, some how the refunds needs to be integrated along with communications. hook into the woo data. its all there already, refunds via paypal, any amount can be then negotiated and entered actioned by the vendor etc. tbh much as it works in the woo order page plus the communications side of it, almost putting the admin view of the order page/refund area version of things into the vendor view.

so vendors can manage their own returns, refunds and communications, but admins can do it for them if they don’t thus giving that buyer confidence!, not sure how that figures with paypal. but like ebay, if its refunded, the seller should be docked of their funds from the sale.

in reply to: Refunds & Complaints #15699
    vadmin

as said woo does this only with wp lister, in short it also adds in the paypal payment id with refund amount box. under that set up, not using vendors, it obviously deducts from teh store owner, but using wc vendors. it would hopefully do so from the vendors payment. ie calling a refund.

or would it be a case of going to paypal to open a case, surely we can’t expect the buyer to make a claim, ie if the vendor doesnt fix a situation. then the store owner should be able to say, hey thats not on and make the refund. taking back his payment and giving it back to buyer. otherwise what credibility can a store have if it can’t even call a refund. 😉

in reply to: Refunds & Complaints #15698
    vadmin
    Spectator

no no so the store owner can call a refund.

ie vendor doesn’t resolve a issue. store owner or admins can step in.

also q&a , it would be better as both a private ticket and q&a, both awesome support and anspress plugin accomplish both. product enquiy didnt work for me, awesome and anspress do. its just the ability for say a admin to escalate a ticket with final action of a refund. or forcing the vendor to refund.

in reply to: Woocommerce+WC Vendor Pro+ ? for Taxes #15695
    vadmin
    Spectator

the tax options are currently, standard or zero, in product page edit. with standard being conf in woo settings.
could a new field not be added alongside standard & Zero, ie ‘custom’ with it being a text editable field by the vendor, thus vendor can simply add the % of tax required to be charged.

in reply to: Editing Vendor Application #15322

for the extra field, look in the https://www.wcvendors.com/kb , acf fields your looking for, if not in there, search the forums, its here somewhere.

also as Jamie said above , ”Pro Dashboard is a single page that provides everything a vendor should require to get selling on your site without every logging into the wp-admin. Unless they require variable products which we haven’t sorted out for the front end yet”

so for variables, your best bet for user experience is to let them use the admin accessible dashboard, i might add they can only edit their product.

or wait for the next major release of 1.2.0

next update for shipping, until then you can set it site wide (in woocommerce, we use table rate) and vendors can then choose when adding a product. shipping update is due very soon, week im hoping 🙂

and as for payment, you can set if shipping is to be given or not, same with tax. wc vendor settings for that 😉

the code wouldn’t have been needed if we didn’t have wc vendors, as wc vendors is what puts the sold by, also sorry i thought id linked in the previous topic.

    had this issue too,

check the correct pages are also in place in wcvendor pages settings and pro settings, (it tells you the shortcodes each page should have. i dont think the product page has a page itself.) then update permalinks. also depending how you have your perma links set up, it can be issue.

or by all means post up screen shots of what you have got in place in the settings as above.

shame , not interested in seeing the repo, obviously we dont want that getting in wrong hands, but seeing current bugs and whats being worked on feature wise would help, forums are all great for basic config but its the dev side of things we are all then into and waiting on and half the posts are about that, so its a waste of time, well it is considering the same thing being asked and said etc. perhaps something can be sorted. at least so its clearer whats what with #88 as example, i couldnt see anything anywhere as to what it relates to, well all of them lol and at the least for paying customers, or only accounts with more than one license. 😉

hi Ben, the products using wcvendors where only simple products, as said it was a ‘update post’ issue, but only on variations, it turned out a woocommerce issue and ‘anspress’ plugin issue. 😉 nothing to do with wcvendors, i was more interested in the detail behind Jamies fix #88 as it was similar and after a woo update

    hi Jamie,

    this;
    * Fixed: Fatal error updating WooCommerce #88

was that restricting the updating of qty/variations ? i ask as we’ve had issue with what iv said, in short no update of post/stock qty resets to zero. we put it down to another plugin, but they suggest its something else. though the other plugin, when deactivated, fixes it. hence iv not mentioned it here.. if that makes any sense you’ll know what im on about lol

we are on we on wc vendors 1.0.2 if that helps, gona try the new release and retest. just saw the changelog here and wondered exactly what the fixes are and if they could be involved.

on another note, your fix number #88, whats the channel for that and for bugs and change logs so we can keep an eye on things.

    cheers

send us a bill then, we already offered to pay for support, we cant just ‘toss’ some money, its business we need a invoice.

also thats a bit unfair, ‘right’ now, iv been patiently waiting and only bumping the issue, due to the fact, im sitting here seeing you reply to umpteen new topics daily, and there for assume like the rest of us, you also work wends, ok i get its sunday i wasnt expecting help there and then, though it would of been nice, i only asked you t ocheck emails, but now its monday.

some support and resolve to the issues, or a eta of when you can help, is all i asked, no need for the remarks.

we have paid for this after all. and from my questions and attempt to install and intergarte, we are stuck.

all we need is the support that was and has been promised. but further more have offered to pay for some help. not sure why this is becoming so difficult.

also just looking at the feedback system, shipping system also as its in dev,, as store owner, it would be good to let vendors use their own shipping (i know thats coming soon) but also not interfere with store owners already implemented shipping. (we use table rate shipping by mangohour) ( to point, we likely as already established biz have lower shipping rates than vendors may have.)

also re feedback, it would be good to, like the above (above post) issue,, only show feedback on listings for vendor products not store owner/admins products.

or/and the option to display say ebay/amazon or other customer feedback, within the store owners product listings, but seperate to vendors.

its still showing sold by vw parts international

my thought was should we be adding vendor ids, but vendor products show the vendor with clickable links and 2 lots of sold by. (sold by: name of vendor, sold by: name of vendor)

admin listings only showing 1 sold by and not clickable, so we are nearly there but somethings still up with code.

also as for the attributes issue, thats fair enough i had seen a post you done similar, now it makes sense, is there a quick, css hack perhaps we can make until then ?

it wouldnt be the end of the world if not we can still go live, but it looks messy and may put some off.

we had already planned to fill them in ourselves during approval, also as they must be spot on if they get pushed to ebay. so only a very trusted vendor, in future, should have full access perhaps, some attributes are very sensitive.

this product by admin 31 https://vwpartsinternational.com/shop/bmw-e46-powerflex-front-wishbone-rear-bush-pff5-4601/

only vendor should show everywhere is ok.

ie; we already have 2,000 products, which we hold in stock.

so any listings by admins,, should not be portrayed as vendor.

in coding terms, im not 100% sure on product loops (ie what that shows). but sounds right still. (i think you get the drift)

ok no worries, we’ll have a go, am sure it be fine.

re the ‘sold by’ as said we have already coded out the ‘sold by’ following the knowledge guide you mentioned.

the issue is, it was showing on every listing, ours and vendors,

We only want it to display on vendor products only.

not on listings any admins make. only on vendor listings.

as for the amazon / ebay intergration , wp lister takes care of that, we have had to request wp lister code out some custom fields which is filled out in product listing (ebay required fields) ie hidden from vendor view.

otherwise it acts as does woo commerce, though that was where the invoice issue came in.

I guess we could hit issues if the ebay sale looks like it comes from the vwpartsinternational ebay account, but is actually for a vendors product, and we want them to manage the sale including the invoice, do you have any tips on how we can handle this?

We are thinking on the back end to include the vendor name in the sku, and some information in the description detailing that its a vendor product, are there other things we can do to simplify this?

we have coded out the ‘sold by’ as we did not want this all over the VWPartsInternational products, is there a way to display this only on the vendor products (currently all vwpartsinternational admin users are showing up as vendors with the ‘sold by’ turned on which is why we coded it out). In short, we only want this to show for real vendors.

sorry to mark as private but not keen on telling the world especially if we are the first. also normally we would only discuss this type of thing over emails or in tickets. 😉

    many thanks

also just some more info now i can see private reply option.

we are a retailer, looking to help a few select vendors to get going in biz. our site is https://VWPartsInternational.com

we shall be pushing vendor listings to ebay and amazon perhaps

reason for the invoice question, if none is present, customers will be asking why no invoice, we also want it so its clear the vendor is responsible for sales details, ie we shall keep records of their invoices also.

but and lastly, without the vendor having his own invoice generated, it shall go into our own woocommerce sales records etc. which would then be liable for vat.

as we are only in technical and legal terms being a 3rd party provider so no vat is liable on our part, only on commission, so it would be good if vendor invoices were completely separate along with orders, to the main store.

    thanks
