Yoast SEO is one of the most widely used SEO plugins for WordPress. It handles your page titles, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, social sharing tags, schema, and XML sitemaps across your whole site.
Out of the box, Yoast treats every vendor store like a generic shop page. WC Vendors fixes that. With WC Vendors Marketplace, each vendor store uses the vendor’s shop name as its page title and points its canonical URL at the store itself. With WC Vendors Pro, your vendors go further and write their own SEO details for their store and products, which replace Yoast’s defaults in the page head. Anything a vendor leaves blank falls back to your normal Yoast settings.
Key features for your marketplace
- Correct store URLs: each vendor store gets its own canonical and Open Graph URL instead of pointing back to your main shop page.
- Vendor store SEO: with WC Vendors Pro, vendors set the title and meta description for their store page from the SEO tab in their dashboard settings.
- Branded social sharing: vendors set their own Facebook title, description, and image, plus a Twitter image and username, and their shop name is used as the site name.
- Product SEO: vendors add an SEO title to each product, and can turn on Open Graph to use their own description and social tags too.
- Admin control: you can hide the store SEO tab, the product SEO fields, or individual fields from vendors in the WC Vendors form settings.
The store name and URL handling works automatically with WC Vendors Marketplace. For the vendor-written SEO fields in WC Vendors Pro, tick SEO Compatibility in WC Vendors > Settings > Display > Advanced. Yoast SEO is free on WordPress.org, and the integration also works with Yoast SEO Premium.
