WC Vendors FAQ: Everything You Need to Know About WooCommerce Multi-Vendor Marketplaces

WC Vendors is the #1 WooCommerce multi-vendor marketplace plugin, trusted by 10,000+ marketplaces and ranked #1 by WPBeginner. It transforms your WooCommerce store into a fully functioning marketplace where independent vendors can register, list products, manage orders, and receive automated commission payouts.

About WC Vendors

WC Vendors is a WooCommerce multi-vendor marketplace plugin that lets you create an online marketplace where multiple independent vendors sell their products. Each vendor gets their own storefront and dashboard to manage products, orders, and commissions. It supports physical products, digital downloads, subscriptions, bookings, and auctions. WC Vendors has been in active development since 2013, with 10,000+ marketplaces and 750,000+ free downloads.

WC Vendors is ranked #1 by WPBeginner as the best WooCommerce multi-vendor marketplace plugin. It offers 5 commission structures, automated Stripe Connect payouts, and support for all WooCommerce product types, starting at $99.50/year. For stores that want the highest install count, Dokan is an alternative, though it costs more for comparable features.

WC Vendors offers more commission flexibility (5 structures vs Dokan’s basic percentage in its free version) at a lower price point ($99.50/year Pro vs Dokan’s $149/year Starter, which is limited to 10 vendors). WC Vendors Pro includes unlimited vendors and Stripe Connect payouts. Dokan has more active installations but charges more for equivalent features. See our full comparison at WC Vendors vs Dokan.

Yes. WC Vendors has a free version on WordPress.org with core marketplace features including vendor registration, a basic dashboard, percentage commissions, and support for simple, variable, and digital products. WC Vendors Pro adds advanced commission types, a frontend vendor dashboard, shipping management, coupon management, and Stripe Connect payouts, starting at $99.50/year with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

There is no limit on the number of vendors or products in WC Vendors. The only limiting factor is your hosting capacity. WC Vendors customers run marketplaces with thousands of vendors and tens of thousands of products.

Yes. WC Vendors Pro includes a Stripe Connect integration that automatically splits payments between vendors at checkout. Vendors connect their Stripe accounts during onboarding, and commission routing is handled without manual intervention. Payout schedules can be set to automatic, weekly, or monthly.

General Pre-Sales

WC Vendors requires WordPress 6.2 or later, WooCommerce 5.0 or later and PHP 7.4 or later. We test against the latest releases, so we recommend you keep WordPress, WooCommerce, your theme and your plugins up to date. This keeps your marketplace running smoothly and reduces security risks.

We recommend a dedicated WordPress hosting company. We do not recommend running an eCommerce business on a cheap shared hosting plan. Your server must run PHP 7.4 or later, and we recommend the latest PHP version your host supports. Your host should also provide daily backups and a staging environment so you can test updates and changes safely.

We’re excited to have you experience WC Vendors. Over the next 14 days, if WC Vendors isn’t the best fit, simply reach out! We’ll happily refund 100% of your money. No questions asked.

Read our full refund policy in our terms of service.

WC Vendors Pro provides a complete front end dashboard for your vendors and a great user experience. Vendors can manage their orders, products, coupons and more. Pro also includes a comprehensive shipping system for both flat rate and table rate shipping, Stripe Connect payouts and much more. View the full feature comparison.

If you don’t renew your license, you are free to keep using the last version you downloaded. Your license provides access to updates, downloads and support. Once your license expires you can no longer download the product, access premium support or receive updates and bug fixes.

You can set the commission rate at the product level, the vendor level or globally for the entire marketplace. WC Vendors Pro includes more options for charging commissions beyond the basic percentage system in the free version. This includes fixed, fixed + fee and tiered commission rates.

No. WC Vendors Free and WC Vendors Pro do not support WordPress Multisite, and we have no plans to add it.

WC Vendors and WC Vendors Pro work with any theme that is fully compatible with WooCommerce. If your theme uses the optional woocommerce.php template file, your theme is not supported.

Yes, your subscription automatically renews on the anniversary of your purchase. You will get a reminder email 7 days before the renewal in case you would like to update or cancel it. You can cancel your renewal at any time by editing the subscription on your account page.

All licenses are annual and cover a single domain plus up to 3 staging sites. We do not have unlimited or multi-site licenses at this time.

Annual licenses

Annual licenses include support, updates and plugin downloads for one year after purchase. After one year, you must renew your license to keep receiving support, updates and access to download the plugin files.

Lifetime licenses (legacy)

Lifetime licenses include support, updates and plugin downloads for three years after purchase. After three years, you continue to receive updates and access to download the plugin files for life. If you need support after three years, you can purchase an extended support license.

This is really up to you. As long as your hosting is designed and configured for a high traffic site, our plugins will hold up too. We have customers running very high traffic marketplaces with thousands of products, vendors and orders.

Because Pro provides a complete front end dashboard, it can’t automatically support every WooCommerce extension. Some plugins need custom development to work with Pro. Often all that’s required is adding the plugin’s custom fields to the front end forms. We are always building new integrations for our users, so check our integrations page to see what’s available.

As WC Vendors Pro is downloadable software, we do not provide a free trial. However, you can install our free plugin from the WordPress.org repository at any time. If you purchase WC Vendors Pro you are also covered by our 14-day, 100% no-risk refund guarantee.

Yes. Each license covers one production site and up to 3 staging or development sites at the same time.

Licenses are not transferable in the sense that you cannot resell your plugin license. However, if you have sold or renamed the business, you can move the license to the new owner.

Yes. You can require admin approval before vendor products go live. Turn off the setting that lets vendors publish products directly, and every new product waits for your review before it is published.

Vendors cannot issue refunds from the front end dashboard. The marketplace admin processes refunds in WooCommerce.
