It may be this line:
if ($args->theme_location == 'primary')
If BuddyBoss is using a different term for the primary menu, then it may not work.
For the life of me I could not find that they had changed this; I searched thoroughly for any mention of the wp_nav and did not find anything.
I think perhaps you will need to ask BuddyBoss if they define the menu locations in a specific manner that would affect adding this to the Titlebar menu. It might be titlebar instead of primary.. but I am not certain, Karen.
