    Hey everyone,

I’d like for vendors to be able to use different attributes for different categories.
For example say there is the category Dress (Attributes would be Size, Color, Designer)
There could be also be the category of Bags (Attributes would be Brand, Material, Shape)

Ideally, on the Add/Edit Product page, you could select the category, then the appropriate attributes would populate the Attributes drop down.

Is it possible to assign attributes to specific categories?

    Thanks,
    Rick

    Hello,

This would require custom coding to have rule based categories and attributes. This is not an easy task and would a lot of javascript for this to work.

If you make it work we’d love to integrate this feature 🙂

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Hello

    I’d like that too.

Richard : shouldn’t we have to assign attributes to categories in the Products/categories page, when admin creates categories ?

And then, like you said: ” on the Add/Edit Product page you could select the category, then (only) the appropriate attributes would populate the Attributes drop down

    Regards

    Filipe,

Yes, in the admin, you would assign all the possible attributes to the categories. Then, on the add product page, an individual vendor could select which attributes they want for a given category.
Not sure how to do this yet.
