    Hello,
Could you please inform me of the pros and cons of checking: “Enable Stripe Checkout” on the Stripe Checkout settings page (If enabled, this option shows a “pay” button and modal credit card form on the checkout, instead of credit card fields directly on the page.)

Is there a particular advantage or disadvantage to using the Stripe checkout modal window vs. having the customers enter credit card details directly on the page?

And info would be appreciated. Thank you- as always- for your help.

    Hi Anna,

My personal preference is to leave that box unchecked. By doing that, the credit/debit card details are entered right on the checkout page. With it enabled you have to click a button on the checkout page to enter the details in a popup window.

It’s not good, bad, or anything, it’s just a different way to collect the cards info. It’s unchecked by default, because it looks the best and is less clicks for the buyer. Try it out, add an item to your cart, go to the checkout page. Then enable the modal in the settings, and reload the checkout page. Pick whichever one looks the best to you. 🙂

Thanks, Ben. Overall I find it much more appealing without stripe checkout… So if there’s no advantage then I’ll leave it unchecked.

I’m so glad to have the Stripe Connect- thank you for this plugin/ add on to WC Vendors. 🙂

Yea, me too. I like it better unchecked. That’s why unchecked is the default. But if the API supports a feature, we’ll give members the option to use it whichever way they want. If we don’t someone will surely ask for it later so might as well in advance. 🙂 Glad you’re getting good use out of Stripe. It’s a nice gateway.
