WooCommerce is compatible in that you CAN install it on Multisite and it will work globally. Each sub-site can run WooCommerce completely independently.
So- you install and activate the WooCommerce plugin, it will be activated on all sites, and there will be an option to create a store, set up products for each site on the multisite. Individually. We have had a handful of requests to support multisite but the interest is extremely minimal. As you can see on our plugin description page on the WP repo we have clearly stated that we are not compatible with multisite. At this stage we have no plans to support installation on multisite.
Unless you have a need to run multisite I would not recommend running WooCommerce on a multisite install.
