I’ve been doing some pretty extensive testing of PRO this week before we move it onto our selling site and the new Vendor Application form does work.

On our site most visitors already have a Customer account. When they’re logged in, if they click the link for the PRO dashboard the get the new vendor application page. Customers can only ‘log in’ if they’ve already created an account, and on the ‘Register’ page there’s a tick box to apply to be a vendor.

So here’s how we’re going to set it up:

Direct new sellers to register and tick the ‘Apply to be a Vendor’ box. (If they’re already registered as just a customer then we’ll direct them to the PRO Dashboard.)
Edit the template for the Vendor Application Email in WooCommerce Settings to include a link to the PRO Dashboard.
Since they’re not an approved vendor yet they’ll see the new PRO Vendor Application.
Once they’ve filled out the new application page then we’ll approve them to be a vendor.

This new application is awesome! We get so many looky-lous. They apply to be a vendor but never actually start selling so we’re constantly cleaning up our approved vendors list. Now we’re not going to approve them unless they’ve completed that application to prove they’re serious about selling with ut.

No need to do ANY of that! 🙂 Stop! 🙂

In v1.0.2, after a vendor registers on the /my-account/ page and checks the “Apply to be a vendor” box, their account is created, and they are sent directly to the Pro Dashboard page to complete the Vendor Registration form. We got you covered on this! 🙂

OMG! I SOOOOO want to put PRO on our selling site and that’s one of only two issues I had left LOL I can deal with the dropped Paypal address – that’s no biggie. And I’ll just keep my links to the old shop pages until I can style the new ones. So OK, I’ll let this ride, too, and just manually send them a link when they apply.

Other than that, I’m thinking we’re ready to go tonight while all our customers are sleeping.

And by the way — How is everyone at home? Are you and your wife getting any sleep or are you too busy playing with that new baby? 🙂

Awesome! Glad you’re excited, we are too! 🙂

Home life is great. I still get 9 hours of sleep every day. She sleeps less and always has, but she’s still getting a good rest. Baby Benson has adjusted to home life pretty well so far. 🙂
