It was the permalink structure. I had wc show categories and subcategories as its own page so it was using a custom structure. I just added a / at the end and it fixed it! thank you!
I’ll head your warning about the child theme from now on. The overrides were unnecessary, I don’t remember why i put them there. Thanks for pointing it out!
