    Hi,
Do the individual vendors get an emil notifying them when an order of one of their products has been placed? I’m just testing the plugin on my site and only I as the site admin got an email notification…
If they are able to be notified, how do I set this please?
    Thanks in advance.

wp-admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Emails > Notify Vendor — If that’s enabled, then vendors get an email notification.

If it is enabled and they aren’t, chances are you’re trying to use some external email such as @yahoo.com or @gmail.com and those look like fake emails to most clients and will be trashed not even put in spam. Send email through @yourdomain.com account instead.

No emails apart from first one when new user/vendor registers/applies seem to be going out…

Notify vendor is enabled… and email addresses are not generic domains like yahoo, google… have tried a few.

Vendor is not getting an email when I approve and change the role to vendor and they didn’t get one about a product order either.

    Hi @CyberSnaby

When approving a vendor, there’s *two* ways to do it. Only one of them sends the email.

1.) NO EMAIL WILL BE SENT — wp-admin > Users > Pending Vendors > Edit the user, choose Vendor as their role, click Update/Save.

2.) EMAIL WILL BE SENT — wp-admin > Users > Pending Vendors — Hover your mouse over the username you wish to approve, and click the “Approve” link. Email will be sent!

If they aren’t getting the “Notify Vendor” email about a new order, make sure the order is set to Processing or Completed, and if it’s a test transaction, use the WC Vendors Test Gateway for this, not the WooThemes Cheque/BACS gateway.

    Cheers

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Progress!!! Am getting an automatic email now upon pending vendor approval (through doing it your way – described above).

BUT, the Vendor is still not getting an email about a new order. It only goes to the main notification email. I didn’t quite understand what you meant about setting the order bit above…?

Also, despite receiving an email notification, when I log in as the Shop Manager, I don’t see any pending orders (no little numerical notice in a circle like you usually see with WooCommerce). When I click in to ‘WooCommerce > Orders’, they are sitting there shown as ‘On Hold’…

Is the vendor not getting an email for LIVE orders where a buyer ACTUALLY bought something? Or not through your test orders? What payment gateway are you using?

Live site with live gateway – buying through Paypal. I place order, pay for it, get the relevant confirmation from Paypal and then main email gets a new order notice but not vendor themselves.

Processing Order email notification is not currently enabled… does that matter for this?

Processing Order email notification is for orders that are processing. You should enable this.

    So, is the process:
    1. Order is placed
    2. Notification sent to shop manager
    3. Shop manager logs in and marks as ‘Processing’, this triggers an email to the Vendor?
I’m a bit confused… I marked as processing, then realised I hadn’t set the Processing Order notification, so put processing order back on hold and set notification, then marked as processing again. Didn’t get a vendor email notification… (possibly no surprise after all that!)
    Thanks!

Shop Manager should not set order as Processing. Payment gateways should do this automatically.

That didn’t happen… order got marked as ‘on hold’…? PayPal setting wrong or something?

Beats me, but on-hold means there is a problem. Processing & Completed means MONEY IN THE BANK. All other statuses means you havent been paid or there is a problem.

Money is with Paypal though – it’s in there. So why would order show as ‘on hold’? Never seen that before with WooCommerce tbh.

That’s a better question for PayPal, not us. 🙂

Fixed. Conflict issue with main Paypal address (client had changed main PayPal email without telling me!) and email set in WooCommerce settings. Causes this error.
Thanks for all your help on this though Ben. Got me to where I needed to be 🙂

    @damn73
Please look through out email debugging steps…https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/debugging-mail-issues/ also, I have found the plugin Postman SMTP to be very helpful. It solves some issues, and also has logs so you can see if the emails are being dispatched: POSTMAN SMTP
