    Hello,

I’m trying to build a website similar to thumbtack.com, a place to find professionals for specific jobs. I also want to enable payment through the site itself. Vendors should be able to post services and get contacted. One example would be a teacher offering private classes. Users should be able to find these professionals through various filters and categories. Would WC Vendors alongside Buddypress, buddypress member types and Social Marketplace theme work for this concept? Thank you!

    Hello,
I do believe that the combinations of plugins you have listed should provide a way for your to build the type of website you plan, yes. The Social Marketplace theme & plugin by BuddyBoss does also add some nice features for a site like you are planning.
The buddypress will be a good addition for communication and profiles– and if you need to book appointments, we also have an integration plugin for use with WooCommerce Bookings, if you find you need that in the future.

    One more question:
Do you know if I’ll be able to use any onlime payment system, or only PayPal? On the buddyboss site, the theme is advertised using PayPal as the payment system. The system that I want to use has a woocommerce integration plugin, but I don’t know if this mean that I’ll be able to use it with social marketplace and wcvendors. I have tried contacting buddyboss, but no response yet. Thank you again for all the help

    Hello,
You can use any WooCommerce compatible processor/gateway to collect customer payments.
You will just have to pay your vendors their due commissions manually.
The only two payment gateways that will allow an instant payment of commissions at checkout are PayPal adaptive payments or our Stripe Commissions & Gateway plugin.
However, many, many of our users do not use paypal or Stripe, but use another payment gateway of their choice.
They then pay their vendors manually via whatever method they choose (bank, check, paypal, other methods) on whatever schedule they choose.
Due commissions for vendors is shown in your admin : wp admin > woocommerce > commission
You can check what vendor(s) have due commissions- shown as “DUE”, pay them, and then go back and mark the commissions that you have paid to them as “PAID”.

Thank you for all the help. I have one last question, regarding WordPress in general. Does translating a wordpress theme, using provided .pot file, translate everything on the site itself, including content (for example product category names) and plugins? Or do I have to publish the content in the desired language, independently from whatever language that theme/plugin is using?

    Hello,
If you use a .pot file, then it will not translate all of the plugins or categories, no.
There are some plugins that translate more— though specifically for our plugin, they do not usually translate the pro pages completely.
We have language files for WC Vendors and WC Vendors Pro also:
