NOTICE: We've Moved to a Ticket System for Support

    I have a vendor who normally doesn’t ship overseas so her international shipping is disabled in her store settings.
    However, she wants to start selling a few items worldwide as they are lightweight.

    For these items, she is overriding her shipping on her product to allow for international postage. However, the customer is still getting the message “There are no shipping methods available”

    So in summary:
    Store Settings: Vendor has disabled international shipping in store settings. Product Override: enables International shipping for one product. Override is not working.

    Hi Anna, if you need to take a look on Conscious Crafties, I think you have your admin details but give me a shout if not.

    The vendor is Tracey Bolton and you’re welcome to change her shipping for individual items if you make a note and put it back 🙂 xx

    Hello,
    I will be submitting this issue- I see this during testing.
    I tried a work-around to see if she enabled International shipping, but then disabled it on a per-product basis… that would be more work for her, but perhaps a solution for the meantime.
    I’ll get this submitted and let you know on the outcome. 🙂

    Thanks Anna, just had Tracey tell me she had a message from a customer saying there were no shipping methods available and she had lost an order from it 🙁 Any news? x

    We just had a very angry customer unable to purchase lots of vendors products due to adding one of Tracey’s items to her basket causing her to get ‘no shipping methods’ message. She thinks my site is crap because of it and has messaged 13 vendors about it 🙁

    This would have been our biggest order in 18 months for $277! All the vendors are now talking about their lost sales in my private community group 🙁

    Please can you guys help fix the bug asap.

    Hello,

    I’m working on this in the next day or so. Also note that she would not have been able to buy from 13 vendors at the same time anyway. Paypal limits 6 people in the transaction which means the marketplace + 5 vendors. This is not something we can program around this is a limitation of paypal. I’m trying to work out a way that will notify the customers if they try and add products from more than 5 vendors at a time when the adaptive payments system is active. The only way around this is to disable the adaptive payments and use a standard gateway and pay your commissions after the fact.

    Thanks Jamie, I didn’t know that about Paypal! The customer was actually buying by card (stripe) and I have managed to rescue some of the orders by talking her through everything for about 3 hours last night! She has ordered from a few of our vendors separately. But I didn’t half get an ear full before calming her down!

    I’m wondering if this is why certain vendors (I have more now!) who can NOT ship overseas. I used to be able to save “Store Shipping Address” in wp-admin but after one of the shipping updates I could no longer save. Vendors don’t see this only admin (so it has to be done in wp-admin) but I used to add their country in there anyway even though I wasn’t sure I needed to! But some vendors joined prior to that field being available or after it stopped saving. So some have that complete others don’t.

    Could you test this and get back to me as we have customers wanting to buy but can’t checkout!

    For now I have tempararily un ticked the ‘Disable International Shipping’ on the vendors shipping SETTINGS and this I think appears to allow overseas customers to checkout. But these UK vendors only want specific items posted overseas as some are too heavy and expensive to ship.

    So it seems that if SETTINGS says ‘Disabled International Shipping’, then overriding international shipping on PRODUCT does not work.

    I know Jamie is looking into this. I will let you know if progress is made with this issue and if there is a workaround in the meantime. Right now I do not have any additional info.
    It is important that all vendors have their store shipping address set- if it is not, you will likely get the dreaded “no shipping is available” notification.

    Yeah they have the country set in their ‘Store Address’ obviously, but ‘Store Shipping Address’ is not visible to vendors only in wp-admin, but it doesn’t save when I enter it on their user account unfortunately.

    Seems that the rest of the world has started to notice us all of a sudden!

    We have had many US customer orders go through previously though for other vendors. I have only now been made aware of some vendors not being able to sell overseas due to several angry customers, I’m guessing we have lost many orders for certain vendors due to no shipping available 🙁

    Hopefully this can get sorted out soon and with a fix so there are not any more issues with the International shipping unique needs that your vendor have.
    When testing both Jamie and I did find the issues with the overrides on the product level and it will hopefully be fixed soon.
    I am not sure if the extra shipping field is needed; if the shipping from is set in the vendor shipping settings page then the address should register as the ship fro address without it needing to be set up in the admin.
