    Hi all
I am running a marketplace where vendors from all over the world can send their goods worldwide.
In order to solve the shipping calculation problem, I like to add WC a “Request total from seller” option so when a buyer likes to get a total price for an item (including shipping to his location) he can ask the seller for a quote/total price.
also, when the seller sumbit a total price, it should update the cart.
Anybody knows any solution for that?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Amir.

The solution, is to use WC Vendors Pro, which includes the shipping module. ๐Ÿ™‚ Adding this to Free would not be on the table.

    Hi Ben,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I am not looking for “free stuff” but for a solution that works…
If you say this is my solution for a “Request total from seller” option, I will go a head and purchase it.
    Thanks,
    Amir.

    Ben,
Thanks for clearing that the Pro version doesnt have “Request seller”.

I tried to tinker a little with the demo version, but still didnt understand how the shipping works.
As you know every product has a different shipping price when you send it to to different locations, especially if they are worldwide.
After listing a prodcut and a price, how can a vendor set a price for shipping? for example, if a vendor is located in NY USA, the price for shipping inside NY USA will not be the same like when you send to India…
How can a vendor list shipping prices for every destination worldwide?

Also, in the demo version, you have a “WOO” product listed with 2 shipping options (US or NON-US). I couldnt find the shipping menu where a vendor can set the prices… where is it located?

I like to purchase the Pro version but must understand how the shipping works..
    Thank you!
    Amir.

https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/ <-- Your new bible. Anything useful for our plugins is there and here on the forums. Read up on both of them. ๐Ÿ™‚ https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/pro-shipping/ is an article linked there that tells you how to configure and use the Pro shipping module. Covers pretty much everything. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Cheers

    Hi Ben,
If a vendor like to offer few shipping options (like UPS or USPS etc) – how can he set it up?
I only see 2 option – national or inetrnational shipping..

That is correct, National or International. If we built in support for USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Canada Post, Mexico Post, Australian Post, DHL by Country, good god, that would be a rather large list. It’s a flat rate setup, just like on eBay. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ben, you are right, itโ€™s just like EBAY – but with a little difference (Which is crucial for us…)
In many cases, especially in international deals the seller cannot submit in advance shipping prices for any destination or any shipping company/method in the world (like your mentioned).
This is when the buyer needs to “request total from seller” for his specific location and shipping method, and the seller calculates the shipping cost and update the total price of the customer. This is how EBay works..
    How can we solve that?
Can you guys add a “request total from seller” feature? (Like EBay) ๐Ÿ™‚

We do not have any plans to add a feature like this to WC Vendors Free or Pro. You could do it, you’d just have to code it up on your own.

Thanks Ben but my developer said that this kind of coding is extremely difficult and beyond his abilities.
Do you have another suggestion for me how to solve this problem?

Yup, it’d be a lot of work to code it, for a feature that only you have requested. In reality it’d probably take 15-20 hours to code it from start to finish including testing and tweaking if your guy is WordPress/WooCommerce knowledgeable.

You can solve it by hiring someone to add this feature for you. It is not something we would want to do or have any future plans to do so at all.

    Hello,
No, we do not have this type of feature built into our WC Vendors or WC Vendors Pro.
