    Hi Ben

How is it going with the shipping update? Crucial to me so I need to know whether I need to be making a Plan B or whether I can look forward to this update soon?

    Thanks

We certainly didn’t plan to have to rewrite the product/shop pages right away, that’s been consuming 100% of our time right now. Shipping is still on target for v1.1.0, but that itself is still 2 weeks out. 🙁 Sorry for the delays!

Oh no I thought Shipping Module would be ready for v1.0.2 :'( I can’t go live without it as our vendors are worldwide

Sorry, v1.1.0…… 🙁 The way versioning works, is that:

    Major (v1.0.0, v2.0.0, etc…)
    Features (v1.1.0, v1.2.0, v1.3.0, etc…)
    Bugs (v1.0.1, v1.0.2, v1.1.1, v1.1.9, etc…)

Next up is v1.0.2 to fix the display issues. Then, v1.1.0 with the shipping modules.

Sorry I hadn’t realised and told my vendors they’d be getting the new forms this weekend.

Don’t want to disappoint, so do any of your customers have a work around or plan B?

    Thanks,
    Karen

A workaround for what? Code we have not even written yet? 🙂

You can always have vendors add products on the back end of the site, that still fully functions. That’s more of a plan C, but hey, it worked in Free. 🙂

    Hi Ben,

I do have pro activated on my site but still have vendors going to wp-admin, I was just really hoping to let them start using the new forms.

By a work around I meant are there any of your customers using shipping classes so they can start using your shiny new forms yet?

    Thanks,

    Karen

I think most marketplaces are just including shipping in their product costs and shipping for free. WIth such limited shipping support in the past, there’s never really been one “go to” solution. That’s what we’re going to fix. 🙂

You guys are going to save the world…. if we can all leave you alone to get on with it 😉

I’ll hang fire for the all singing all dancing shipping module as we have international vendors so sadly we can’t include shipping in the price in case they get overseas customers.

Anyway I’m going to try to keep quiet so you guys can have time to breath and code.

I wonder if there is anyway you can ask people to not raise tickets at the moment unless absolutely essential? I noticed a lot of questions re ‘when are we getting this or that’ are repeated, so maybe if you can somehow pin the answers for those duplicate questions at the top, people won’t keep asking the same thing.

Bye for now (don’t reply u have enough to do)

I thought the same as Karen – trying not to raise anything that isn’t essential. I guess everyone’s view of essential is different though 🙂

Shipping to me is key to a full launch. I think as definite a date as possible is helpful so I can communicate genuine updates to my vendors.

    Thanks Ben & Jamie

As there’s no button here, I’ll ‘LIKE’ the above Helloand 🙂

It’s hard to ask people not to raise tickets. Especially when they pay for support by buying the Pro plugin. 🙂 But since Pro is so new, the help forums arent as populated yet with common questions/answers so searching is a bit more messy still. It’ll improve in time. 🙂

We were planning to launch with a new website, but havent finished that either, been too busy coding. 😉

I am waiting shipping module which is the key to launch my website like helloand. When do you plan to do this module? How to solve shipping question if I use vendor pro untill this module will be done?

The work around is simple. Communicate with vendors to include shipping in the price and offer free shipping for the time being. If you have already mentioned, you can get around by mentioning a critical bug which delayed a little further. 1.1 is not very far. This is also good marketing as its a +1 for customer and also showing your commitment to offer a good bug free product. The vendors might earn more or less depending on different destinations. The key here is communication. Any product at launch will have plus and minus and ongoing dev in there to support further features. It all depends on how you mention / pitch stakeholders.

I created shipping classes for every Vendor. Then Vendor add new product, he has to choose his name shipping class. I set calculation type “per class:charge shipping for each shipping class individually”. But this set don’t work in the cart where shipping cost has to be calculated. Is this set doesn’t work with WC Vendor Pro or I have done somewhere mistake in the settings?

    Regards,
    Asta

    Hi Asta,

The shipping modules that are included with WooCommerce are based on a GLOBAL cart rate. So if you have 2 vendors products in your shopping cart, it wont do it right and it will not assign the vendors the shipping cost. This is the reason we have to write our own shipping module.

We’re almost done with 1.0.2’s release, we have found a layout system that works and are recoding it and the javascript right now. We expect to have it released before the weekend is over. Truly sorry for the delays, we didnt expect to have to rewrite all the shops and dashboard layouts in the first release because of theme issues for half of our buyers.

Soon as that’s done, we begin on 1.1.0 which will have the shipping module. It won’t be long, but it is probably still 10-14 days out.

    Ben
