A vendor can add shipping costs to individual products under add products as well as add shipping costs and their shipping from address under settings. What is the purpose of adding shipping costs under settings vs individual products. I am writing instructions to my vendors and want to understand how they play with each other.

    Thanks much,

    Lorette

    Hi Lorette,

The quantity override is on each individual products shipping tab. So, Pro Dashboard > Product > Edit or Add > Shipping tab.

hmmm I am logged in as a “vendor” and I don’t see that option.

Also, can you answer the question I asked on this tread? I want to know how a vendor should add their shipping rates. Under each product>shipping or under settings>shipping. There are options for both and I want to be able to explain it accurately to my vendors.

    Thanks,

    Lorette

    Hi Lorette,

I misspoke — It’s in two places, on the per-vendor side (Dashboard > Settings > Shipping) and on the Per Product side by editing/adding a product and clicking the Shipping tab.

It will say “Charge once per product for national shipping, even if more than one is purchased.”.

If you do not see that text, make sure the Pro shipping module is actually enabled in WOoCommerce settings, configured correctly, and that you are running Pro v1.1.2.

So, how do you tell vendors to add rates? There’s two ways:

1.) /dashboard/settings/ will be the vendors GLOBAL rate. If they do not specify any shipping rates on an individual product, it uses these rates as the defaults.

2.) /dashboard/product/edit/XXX will be only that specific products shipping rate. If a value is here, it is used, otherwise it goes to #1.
