We are having a lots of issues related to shipping zones and vendor shipping addresses. Here’s my best effort at explaining…

I’ve got Vendor Shipping enabled as a standalone method, and I want it to be the only option for shipping. To prevent customers from seeing multiple shipping options in the cart or checkout area, there are no shipping zones except “Rest of the World” (which can’t be removed), and there are no rates associated with “Rest of the World.”

However, without any shipping zones, customers are seeing this error message in cart/checkout: “There are no shipping methods available. Please double check your address, or contact us if you need any help.” Whether or not they see this message depends on which products/vendors are in their cart. I found a thread in the WC Vendors forum suggesting this could be fixed by ensuring that all vendors have their Country set in “Store Shipping Address.”

Through the WC Vendors Pro dashboard, vendors can only set their “Store Address,” not their “Store Shipping Address” (which appear as two separate field areas in the admin view of the User account). Even though each vendor has set the “Shipping From” field to “Store Address,” customers see the above error message unless the vendor also has Country set in “Store Shipping Address.”

Since vendors cannot set the “store shipping address” themselves, as the admin, I have been going through each vendor’s user account and attempting to manually set their shipping country in the “Store Shipping Address” section. I have been able to do this for certain vendors, and once their Country is set in “Store Shipping Address,” the error message disappears and customer is able to order from that vendor. HOWEVER, for most vendors, I cannot save any changes that I make to their “Store Shipping Address.” When I click save, any other changes that I make are saved, but the shipping details in the “Store Shipping Address” section disappear.

While this issue exists, no one can checkout on our site, except from a few vendors. I’ve got lots of customers emailing complaints and abandoning carts worth hundreds of dollars. This is causing us and our sellers to loose crucial business, so please please please assist as quickly as possible.

I am so confused by this….
I deactivated all nonessential plugins, and at first, that seemed to magically correct the problem. Suddenly, shipping was calculated correctly in my cart, regardless of whether the vendors’ Country was set in the “Store Shipping Address” section. Then, I emptied my cart and started over. All of a sudden, the issue was back. I emptied my cart again and started over again. That time, the issue was gone.

You can attempt to replicate the issue by adding these two products to your cart on our site.

The vendor of this product does NOT have country set in her “Store Shipping Address” area. http://www.liftuplift.com/marketplace/gifts/wrapperoo/?attribute_pa_color=gray

The vendor of this product DOES have Country set in her “Store Shipping Address” area.

    Hi Corielle,

We solved this problem by changing these settings:
Go to Woocommerce > Settings > General > Default Customer Location and set to “No location by default”
Go to Woocommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Options and set to “Default to customer billing address”

Now shipping is based on the customer billing address, not on any store address.

    Hope this helps!

    Jeffrey Whipp

woops! sorry, I meant set to “customer SHIPPING address”

@modcamper – Thanks, Jeffery! I appreciate your input! It looks like our General and Shipping settings are already setup this way. I deactivated a few plugins which may have been causing conflicts, because everything seems to be working OK now.
