    Hi @fervous and the team:
We’ve just begun accepting real vendors onto our site, and several of them have uploaded detailed store descriptions of hundreds of words. The problem is that the store description fits only into the right side of the screen and pushes their products way down the screen – which looks terrible! I’ve attached a screenshot as an example (store name blurred out as we haven’t gone live yet).

Rather than ask (or force) them to cut the length of their store descriptions, what do we need to do or what file do we need to edit to bring about one of these three remedies?

    a) Move the store description to the bottom of the page (below the products) and have it cover the full width of the screen
    b) Allow only five lines to show, and then have a “more” button for the reader to click on to read the entire store description
    c) Keep the store description at the top of the page, but below the social media links and have it display across the full row

I’d prefer solution a or b, but really whichever is most simple, and allows you to respond quickly.

Am using OneSocial by the way, I think this is your turf, but let me know if it’s theirs.

    Thanks as always!

    Hello,
You might have to refer to BuddyBoss.. as I know they have modified this template.
You can modify the store-header.php template so that this line (may be a bit different in OneSocial) has the echo substr
    https://gist.github.com/fervous/51c83cb93a96e7f38fc13eff47082c50

You’d change 100 to however many characters you’d like to show in the store description area.

if you need a different alteration, please ask BuddyBoss so that they can help you modify the template as they have it– perhaps to show the column differently or at the base of the page.

    Thanks @fervous!
    I’ll play around with this.
    Have asked BuddyBoss too.
