    Hi Ben

In the admin, backend, I wanted to be able to insert a ‘read more’ link to allow the Vendors to have the opportunity to tell their story.

I tried to inset the link from the formatting bar. This didn’t work.
I tried to link it to a child page by highlighting selected text and adding the link. This didn’t work.

Can you help me with this please.

    Thanks

I’m not sure how to do this either. 🙂 You’d basically want to add an extra field to their settings page? and then include a read more link on the store templates that pulls up that info. At least, that’s what I think you want to do.

Wow – Thanks – quick response! Baby asleep? 🙂

I just want to allow the vendors to be able to say more about themselves but not on their vendor store as that would take up too much space.

A lot of them have won Great Taste Awards etc so this would be a nice facility.

Any ideas? (Is the text in store description designed to not be formatted by admin?)

    Hello,

I chose not to allow styling these as it makes it very hard to control how the design of the store fronts look if you have overriding html and the likes in there.

Once I’ve managed to get the store front design updated so that it plays nice with all themes I’ll be able to turn my focus onto some more detailed documentation.

The facility is already there to add your own custom fields that you could then add to the settings page and output on the store templates right now, but you’d have to read a bunch of source code to work out how to do that. I’ll be writing a tutorial about custom meta fields on the front end some time in the not so distant future.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

Jamie – could you give me a character or a word count guide for the store description and the single product store description please.

    Hello,

For the current design any more than 100 characters would get you word wrapped. I’m working on redesigning this as it’s not the best right now.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

Thanks – I appreciate how much you get done. Shipping is priority for me right now.

    Hello,

Yes fixing the store front designs and shipping are my two main priorities at the moment and then support for the bookings plugin that a lot of our users want.

Congrats on your press coverage! It’s always nice to see how people are using our plugin. We’ll be here to support you on your quest to take over local producer market places.

    cheers,

    Jamie.
