Hi,
I am looking to use the WC Vendors pro plugin along with the buddyboss marketplace theme. Some of the Vendors will be offering subscriptions to their end customers, I will NOT be charging the vendors a membership subscription only a commission fee.
My question is do you have a preferred subscription plugin that you would recommend? I was thinking of using https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/yith-woocommerce-subscription/ but am happy to use something else if you know of one that works with the set up above?
Thanks,
BenNovember 10, 2016 at 8:44 am #47223RobertParticipantHey so i have tried to get support to help out with subscription integration. They have not helped at all and basically just ignored every post or question related to it.
But i have a solution for you. 1st using YITH, while some of their stuff is great, it really slows down your website and can cause problems. I personally use Woocommerce Subscription, yes it cost money but it is really good. If you want to get the program for cheap i recommend gplchimp.com. that’s who i use and no i don’t get anything for recommending them and am not connected to them in any way, except for that i pay for the membership. They are really good at keeping woocommerce plugins up-to-date, the only catch is that you will need to update your plugins manually, which if you know anything about an FTP its easy as sin, hahah.
2nd, no matter which program you use, WC Vendors does not support any product that is a “subscription” it will error out, and the error does not even give you any text, it just fails. I attached a screen shot for you to see. The user will be created but the actual payment will not get made. When you check the backend of woocommerce you will see the order is in “pending payment” status and will not recur. And it can not be processed manually. So even if you are selling subscription products to vendors or allowsing vendors to sell subscription products, it wont work.
But have no fear, because while WC vendors seems to be ignoring people asking for subscription products to be supported, i have just coded it in myself (actually just finished testing it today and it works fantastic). Right now I have it working with Stripe ( to be more specific, I have ti working with Stripe Connect, which is the Stripe plugin that WC Vendors coded to work with commissions.
So basicly if you want to sell a subscription product, I can send you an “altered” version of “Stripe Connect” or there is a competitor of WC Vendor that does have it coded right out of the box, but they are freaking expensive as hell, hence the reason i just coded it myself.
Also IF WC VENDORS DOES DECIDE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS POST, i will give the code to WC Vendors (at no charge) so they can include it in a future update so that they can better serve their clients. All about the love hahahaha. But i will wait to see if they even respond hahahaha.
Oh also since i made the subscription products work, i also added a cool feature so if you use woocommerce membership, if you sell subscriptions to vendors and allow them to create products, you can actually limit the amount of products they create based on the subscription they purchase.
November 10, 2016 at 9:22 am #47230BenParticipantHey Robert, many thanks for responding & there are some useful tips in there!
The website is currently in development so I think I will just try a couple of the free services to see how the integrations work. To be honest I prefer to use the paid for plugins as you normally get better support which I need as I am trying to integrate a few different services in to one place.
I hope WC Vendors do respond as I think the subscriptions are growing & it would be extremely useful out of the box to have this option.
Thanks again Robert, fingers crossed WC Vendors get back to me & if I have a full solution in a few weeks then I shall add it here for others.

Pretty sure we reply to every thread. 😉 Might not be with the answers you want to hear, but we do read and reply! Of course, if what you’re asking for us is to sit down right now and code it, no, we cant do that. We are still finishing core features in Pro, and after that is done our integrations for other third party Woo extensions will be coming.
WC Vendors is open source, anyone can send in a pull request with any code changes. If you have code that makes it easier to integrate with a third party plugin, by way of adding a hook or a filter somewhere, you can always send that to our github @ github.com/wcvendors/wcvendors
Cheers
November 10, 2016 at 1:55 pm #47262BenParticipantHi Ben,
So is that a no to any subscription recommendations? Thanks.
November 10, 2016 at 2:24 pm #47267WC Vendors SupportParticipant@benmoore1982 – When we write our integration for it, we’ll be using WooThemes Subscriptions. We’ll always write an integration to use the most popular plugin for what that plugin does.
November 10, 2016 at 2:36 pm #47268BenParticipant@ben ok many thanks.
November 10, 2016 at 9:43 pm #47311RobertParticipantNO i did not ask you to sit down right now and code it, i now you guys are working on a lot and WC Vendors is a kick butt program. i kept asking for an update as to when you guys were going to code it since it has been requested in a few threads. And the support in the threads said that you guys were going to do it.
Well yeah i will do the github and send it up for you guys to review.
And yes i also coded it to work with WooThemes Subscriptions. It is just the most popular and stable so it just made sense.
November 16, 2016 at 11:25 pm #47873Ol’ BoyParticipantHi Robert, I’m really interested in your subscription / stripe connect customization.
Have you had a chance to upload it to github?December 14, 2016 at 2:06 pm #50300BrysonParticipantRobert – Is it possible to get this code from you?!?!
December 14, 2016 at 6:35 pm #50326AnnaMember@madhatmedia
Several users are interested in your solution, which you indicated in several threads on our forum you wanted to share with others. Are you still open and willing to sharing your coded solution for WooCommerce Subscriptions for other users?April 3, 2017 at 11:03 am #60641David RParticipantDid anything ever come of this?
April 3, 2017 at 12:16 pm #60661AnnaMemberDavid,
That guy never came back to share his solution, no.
We do plan on creating an extension for WooCommerce Subscriptions- I think it is next on the list.May 27, 2017 at 4:08 am #66633Thomas ThaiParticipantBen or Anna, any update on WooThemes Subscription integration? I have a launch on 7/1 that is dependent on subscriptions. You all have your own priorities and I get that. I need to know so I can think of other options. Thank you.

Thomas,
I do know that work had begin on the WooCommerce Subscriptions integration now.
However- I do not have a time estimate for this project. It should be the next integration that will be released, along with WooCommerce Pre-Orders integration.
I am uncertain if this will be completed by 71, but I will notify everyone if I know any time estimate for the release.May 27, 2017 at 11:19 pm #66658Thomas ThaiParticipantAnna, thank you for the follow up. I I will put in place an interim solution. Will WooCommerce Membership be apart of that integration as they go hand in hand?
May 27, 2017 at 11:25 pm #66660AnnaMember@thomastthai
Form my past testing with WooCommerce Memberships…
I believe it will then work for the admin for vendor memberships using WC Subscriptions.. .. however I do not know as it will work for vendors to have people create memberships.
I will have to check on that one.July 16, 2017 at 4:18 pm #70207Julian KanaanParticipant@FERVOUS Any updates on this topic of letting vendors create subscriptions?
Thanks!
August 25, 2017 at 6:33 am #77381steffgoParticipant@fervous I am looking once in a while into the WCVendors plugin to see how this issue develops, and I see for a long time now promises of work on the integration of the subscription plugin. What is the status here? In May it was next on the list? Would be very nice to have a clue whether this is going to happen anytime soon or not, because as with many others my purchase of WCVendors makes only sense if it works together with my subscription products.
August 26, 2017 at 12:03 am #77405LukeParticipantHi – I am also looking for updates on this integration. I have a site launch coming up and would like any updates you have on WCVendors with Woo Subscriptions and Woo Memberships before I spend the time coding the integration myself.
Thanks
August 27, 2017 at 6:39 pm #77484AnnaMemberHello,
There has been work done on an integration with WooCommerce Subscriptions, but it looks to still be a while out as far as completion. -
