    Hello,

    one of my vendors asked if there is a way to hide a product from potential customers for some reason, and I thought this function “Private Listing, hide this product from the catalog” was supposed to accomplish that but It seems I am still able to detect the product even after ticking this.

    Isn’t this function meant to perform what this vendor is asking for?

    thanks for the clarification!

    To COMPLETELY hide the product, you can set the product in draft status. They can do this by editing the product, and instead of clicking “Save Changes” they click “Save Draft”.
    To kinda-of hide the product (it is still visible if you go DIRECTLY to the url of the product), then the vendor can use the “Private Listing” checkbox. This feature is good if the vendor wishes to offer a product to a specific customer and send them the url so it can be purchased, but is not visible in the store or in the site-wide marketplace unless the product direct url is accessed.

    yea, that’s what I thought the function should perform, but in fact it doesn’t. Even if I “kinda” want to hide a product by clicking the private listing button, its still showing and searchable, without even going to that specific url.

    Am I missing something here? ^^;;

    Thanks, Jay.
    No- you aren’t missing anything. Looks like maybe this was changed with WooCommerce 3.0 update and we will look into it.

    I’m having the same issue. It hasn’t worked for a while and I have several vendors wanting this function. In matter of fact it was the reason they came over to us.

    Can we get an update as to when this will be fixed?
