Hi, I have a problem with user role.

At the sign up page, when someone wants to register, there are 2 possibilities: either he wants to become a customer or a vendor.
If he clicks “Join to become a vendor” and “I agree to the T&C”, he is supposed to be registered as a pending vendor, right?

But, in my case, everytime someone signs up, he is registered as a customer, even if he clicked “Join to become a vendor?” and “I agree to the T&C”.

    I tried a code here:

That seemed to work, but when someone wants to sign up as a customer, he is registered as a pending vendor.
How can I get the roles back to normal?

    Hello,
First- yeah, remove the code you added.
Then go to: wp admin > woocommerce > system status > tools… and RESET WC VENDORS ROLES

If he clicks “Join to become a vendor” and “I agree to the T&C”, he is supposed to be registered as a pending vendor, right?

Yes- if they check that box, accept terms and click Register, then they should be given the pending vendor or vendor role. If you have “Approve vendor applications manually” checked in your wc vendors settings, they should get the pending vendor role.

If after re-setting the roles this is still happening, let me know.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I tried resetting WC Vendors Role, as you suggested, but when I tried registering a new vendor, he is still registered as customer

Are you two using a special login form? Or are vendors going directly to the WooCOmmerce my-account page to register?
    Define: Messed up.

If you are using BuddyBoss theme, do Not use their special forms, They suck.

    Hi @FERVOUS
I don’t use any special login form. Just WooCommerce.

Yes, new vendors go directly to the WooCommerce my-account page to register. After login they also go to the My Account page, instead of Vendor Dashboard, which doesn’t exist because they are not registered as vendor.

I use AccessPress Store theme for my website. It used to work fine until this month. Does this have something to do with recent WooCommerce update?

Ok, I’ve logged in your site.. attempted to sign up as a vendor.. was given customer role.
    1. Would you please try deactivating all plugins except WC Vendors and WooCommerce, and see if this still happens?
    2. If it still happens, switch to the Storefront theme, and then test to see if this still happens.

Otherwise, your settings look ok, from what I can see- so I am not quite sure what is going on here.

    Hi @fervous.

I deactivated all plugins, except WC Vendors and WooCommerce, but the problem still happens.

Then I switched to Storefront theme, with only WC Vendors and WooCommerce currently active, the problem is SOLVED now.

But, why does this happen? Does this mean I can only use Storefront theme?

    Hello,
Please contact the author of AccessPress to see if they have something built-in that assigns the customer role. Let them know that you do not wish for this to occur on your website.
At least we’ve been able to isolate this issue to the theme.

    Hi @fervous

Thank you for pointing out the problem.

Do you have any suggestion about other themes that might have problems with WC Vendors, besides AccessPress Store and BuddyBoss?

    @josuatarsisius
If accesspress authors answer you, you may not need to switch themes.
The BuddyBoss theme is fine- just their login modal that they have available does not always log users in properly.
I do know that the Divi theme causes issues with the WC Vendors Pro dashboard pages, the there is a workaround on here somewhere for that.
