Tried to search forums, no answer found.

In Settings you are able to rename the “vendor shop page” so: yourdomain.com/vendors/store-name/ can be:yourdomain.com/xx/store-name/

I wish to leave it blank so that it becomes: yourdomain.com/store-name/
It’s now created 404 errors – How can I fix so that it stays empty and lets the links work.

If it’s clashing with blog post name’s I’m happy to make it yourdomain.com/blog/post-name somewhere if that will fix it.
I’m using the OneSocial Marketplace theme.

You must use a slug. WordPress requires it, and as you can see, WordPress goes bonkers if you dont. This a requirement of WordPress, I say it again, that way you dont ask us to keep fixing it. It’s not a bug, it’s not a problem, this is WordPress at its core.

No worries cheers ben and thanks for the quick reply.
Wasn’t sure as postname doesn’t have a slug so thought it might be possible.

The postname not having a slug is actually why it’s the problem, WordPress reserves / for WordPress and we cant use it. Go figure, huh?! 🙂 🙂 Cheers

Didn’t want to make a new thread but let me know if i should.
Can I change the shop name url from: yourdomain.com/vendors/shop-name to: yourdomain.com/vendors/shopname
Need to drop that % I don’t mind changing it and manually updating with new updates.

For the slug – I’ve ended up using 301 redirects so each user has a cleaner url to direct customers – messy solution i know but with minimal users (20-30) it’s a manual thing I’ll have to do when people sign up. I googled and found ways to hide slugs in custom post types but that doesn’t apply. Like you said this is a wordpress core thing so aren’t asking for help just fyi. Important for my site as I’m the umbrella but most customers will type in url to direct vendor shops.
