Participantso I de-bugged one issue on my test site, and since then… the vendors are not being recognized as vendors. When they log in, they SHOULD be taken to their vendor dashboard area, instead it is showing this… (see screenshot) ~it says VENDOR APPLICATION, then goes on to show the vendor’s shop description and so on, but no dashboard. I deactivated pro, to see if it was a pro issue, and updated the vendor dashboard page with the shortcode for the free version, and then the error message: “Your account is not setup as a vendor”
Any help anyone can lend, would be greatly appreciated.
I have:
checked system status, everything looks good.
same problem using storefront theme instead of the one I have installed (crafthaven)
I have made sure each user’s role has VENDOR selected
I have even deactivated pro, to see if it was a pro issue, and updated the vendor dashboard page with the shortcode for the free version, and then the error message: “Your account is not setup as a vendor” appears.-

ParticipantIf it helps, when I load the page where the dashboard is supposed to be, sometimes, it shows a QUICK FLASH (like a milisecond) of the dashboard tabs, and then it disappears.

MemberHello,
Are you using that multiple roles plugin to alter the vendor role in any way?
Looks like your pages are set correctly..Try resetting the vendor roles:
wp admin – WooCommerce – system status – tools: reset WC vendors rolestest and see if this helps..
Did you have another multi vendor plugin installed before WC vendors?February 18, 2017 at 11:12 am #56540Heather
Participanthi, thank you for the reply. Yes, at one point I did have another multi vendor plugin installed before WC Vendors, but not recently. I’ll try to reset the vendor roles, and let you know if that works, thanks!
February 18, 2017 at 11:15 am #56543Heather
ParticipantIt seems to have worked, you’re my hero!! 🙂 thank you!! On another note, when the vendors click to add pictures to their products, it bumps them back up to the top of the listing, and will not allow any photos to be uploaded. (this is the original issue I was trying to de-bug when the dashboards disappeared on us)

MemberHeather,
If you deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, WC Vendors and WC Vendors Pro, does this still happen?
Do you see any error when this occurs? Or do they just go back to the top of the page?February 18, 2017 at 11:34 am #56546Heather
ParticipantYes, I deactivated all of the other plugins except woo commerce, wc vendors and wc vendors pro and it still happens. No there is no error messages, just simply takes them back up to the top of the page.

Member@GypsySpoonful
Ok– Well since you do not have SSL that should rule out the mixed content issue.. which is sometimes the cause of image upload problems.
If you could give me an admin login & password in a private reply I can take a look- see if I can figure out why this is occurring.February 18, 2017 at 12:50 pm #56553Anna
MemberOK-
Well you previously had another multi vendor marketplace plugin installed- as there are multiple vendor roles that should not be there.
We only have vendor and pending vendor.
You cannot allow the vendors to have multiple roles like you have- whatever that plugin you have used to do that has messed things up. Whatever was done with that multiple roles plugin- it is not going well. Please delete all vendor roles. You can use user role editor plugin to do so.
If, after doing that, there are still vendor roles in your drop down (wp admin > users ) then you will need to go into your database and get rid of anything from that previous multi-vendor plugin.
After all vendor roles are gone, you can then go again to: w admin > woocommerce > system status > tool: reset wc vendors roles
Then you should have the correct vendor roles.February 19, 2017 at 9:17 am #56736Heather
ParticipantI’ve done all of what you’ve told me to do, and it’s still bouncing back up to the top when we click to upload the featured photo (or any photo for that matter)
You’re welcome to take a look at my cpanel, if you want to?February 19, 2017 at 9:29 am #56738Anna
MemberOK-
When I go to wp admin > users on your site— and then I go to the dropdown box at the top of the screen that says “Change Role to..” all of those old vendor roles are still there.
I see that you removed all roles form your vendors..
But what I meant is that you need to get rid of the old vendor roles from the previous marketplace plugin you had installed.1. install User Role Editor plugin
2. Delete Vendor, Vendor, Pending Vendor, pending vendor, Rejected Vendor roles using User Role editor. Leave the other roles- they are from WooCommerce and WordPress.
3. Go back to wp admin > users and check the drop-down to see if the old vendor roles are gone.
4. If so, Go to: wp admin > woocommerce > system status > tools: reset wc vendors roles, and reassign the vendor role to your user(s). If not, if the old vendor roles were still there– then you have to go to your db and remove them.If you want me to do that on your site- I can. but I did not want to make those changes until I had your permission.
If I have to get in the DB I will let you know.February 19, 2017 at 9:46 am #56743Heather
ParticipantYES, I give you absolute permission!! If you can do that for me, I would be forever in your debt. THANK YOU!! Please let me know what you need from me. The other girls and I have already been talking about sending you a gift because you’ve been so nice and helpful!!
February 19, 2017 at 10:41 am #56746Anna
MemberDo you have something disabling js on your site?
I cannot even get User Role editor to work…
There is something going to prevent some scripts from working correctly– but I am not sure what it is.
None of the select boxes slide out like they should in the wp admin..
Is there any way you can save the work you have done in your theme.. and completely restart with a fresh wordpress install?
I know that may sound daunting– but the roles are messed up. something is wrong with js… and I am not sure if I will be able to get things back to working order. 🙁February 19, 2017 at 10:49 am #56747Heather
ParticipantI don’t know of anything blocking JS at all.
I know what you mean, I am ready to save my work, and scrap it all~ and start over. I don’t know how to do that, but am willing to do it at this point.February 19, 2017 at 11:00 am #56749Heather
ParticipantI’ll start saving my work, can you give me instructions on how to completely restart with a wordpress (fresh) install, please? I know this is not your responsibility, but I appreciate your help more than you know.
February 19, 2017 at 11:06 am #56750Anna
MemberHeather-
That is too bad. Really, something is not right in the install- I cannot tell what how and when it occurred- but a lot of things are not working right.
You can try this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/
If you DO start over– just start with the very basics at the beginning. No role altering plugins.. only the very basic plugins you need.
I’d advise with a fresh install, that you first start with only:
1. WooCommerce. get that set up.
2. Storefront theme. Just use only this theme until you get things set up. Your Genesis theme has some extra plugins and stuff.. wait to set that up.
3. WC Vendors free. Configure.
4. WC Vendors Pro. Configure.
5. Test and make sure everything is working, using a few test vendors and the WC Vendors Test Gateway.
6. Now you can try adding your theme & the plugins it requires.
7. Test
8. If all is well– slowly- one by one.. add any additional plugins that you really want or need to add. Only those that you actually think you will use. Test after adding each plugin to be sure it is not causing an issue.February 19, 2017 at 12:08 pm #56769Heather
ParticipantI installed the wordpress reset plugin, and activated it. And nothing looks different to me. :/

ParticipantI’m sorry anna, I didn’t do it correctly, I went to the plugin documentation and read it, and reset it. Thanks for your help. Will let you know if I have any other questions. Can not thank you enough for all your help!! 🙂
February 19, 2017 at 2:33 pm #56856Anna
MemberHeather,
Glad you were able to reset- that’s always a little scary.
Let me know if you run into any more issues.February 26, 2017 at 2:21 pm #57647Heather
ParticipantAlso, I forgot to add, another problem, when vendors type in their shop description, and click “save” it doesn’t save either… you click the button and nothing happens. Can not upload shop banner… basically none of the buttons work. :/

ParticipantI switched to the storefront theme and the issue isn’t happening. I really would like to be able to use the theme I had though, is there any way to resolve this???
February 26, 2017 at 5:48 pm #57657Anna
MemberI was just replying to you…
And I was going to ask if you had switched to the Storefront theme.Unfortunately this points to there being either js script conflicts with the theme, or the theme is not properly WooCommerce compatible.
If you want to send me a zip of the theme I can look on one of my dev sites; however, all I would to be able to tell you is perhaps *what* the issue is, but I will not be able to solve it. That would be up to the theme author.
When I look up that theme, I see that it claims WooCommerce compatibility. What you are describing sounds more like a js conflict.
I wish I could tell you how to resolve this, but each theme author chooses to code differently, and once in a while they choose to use certain coding practices that will cause conflicts with other plugins. One of the popular themes on the market, Divi, does this also- and it is damn near impossible to get WC Vendors Pro working right with Divi because they disable certain scripts form being executed on the pages. It is strange.
Short answer: as much as I hate to say it, I think you need a different theme.
I can guess your next question would be recommendations.
This one is tough.. but here are a few I know work:-Storefront (of course.. yeah… but it is BORING. 😉 )
-Kleo by SevethQueen (has buddypress and bbress integration)
-Social Marketplace by BuddyBoss (if you want a social website with lots of interaction.. this is the one to use right now. Buddypress & bbpress integration plus special wc vendors pro styling.. like vendor shop search & categories, favorite stores, etc.). We have a group on facebook, too, for this theme: https://www.facebook.com/groups/OneSocialMarketplace/
Other themes work… these are just the three I have found work best and that I know currently 100% work with WC Vendors Pro.
February 27, 2017 at 1:04 pm #57694Heather
ParticipantHey Anna, thanks for all of your help.
So even though I have now gone back to Storefront, and it worked for a short period of time… having the same issues today now 🙁 Vendors can not upload photos, it bounces them back up to the top of the add a product order from when they click on either to add the featured photo or gallery photos. This is happening in EVERY type of browser… What now? I am so confused & frustrated. There is no reason at this point for this to be happening.
I’ve disabled all plugins, am using storefront, … any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I’ll send my system status report in a private reply below as well as my login/password info for admin, in case you need it.
Thanks!!February 27, 2017 at 1:07 pm #57695Heather
ParticipantFebruary 27, 2017 at 1:25 pm #57700Heather
ParticipantAlso when vendors try to update shop description and shop name and hit “save changes” a little box pops up that says “please enter url”

Ok, Heather- I will login to your site now and see if I can find what may be causing these issues.February 27, 2017 at 6:32 pm #57748Heather
ParticipantGreat, thanks so much. I’m here, if you need anything
February 27, 2017 at 6:53 pm #57751Anna
MemberHeather,
Ok- a few things.
1. for the upload error- this looks to be js/jquery issue. I am getting help from my team to learn how I can advise you properly to try and resolve those issues. When I am on the vendor add/edit product page (http://gypsyspoonful.xyz/market/dashboard/product/edit) and I use the inspect tool (in Chrome, right click > inspect.. then CONSOLE tab) I see a TON of js and jquery errors. SO, I;ll need to wait for Jamie or Ben to take a look so I can guise you toward what you’d need to do to fix those issues. I do not know why that is happening.2. (totally unrelated) Your menu links for your vendors .. in the main menu … these two: Shop Settings and Orders … are leading to the old WC Vendors free pages. If you want them to lead to their Pro dashboard pages, then they need the Pro URLS in those links. Or just keep the menu link to the pro dashboard and remove those. The Pro urls would be: http://gypsyspoonful.xyz/market/dashboard/settings and http://gypsyspoonful.xyz/market/dashboard/order
I’ll notify you as soon as I have some info from the guys.
February 27, 2017 at 7:02 pm #57754Heather
ParticipantThank you!! and super thanks about those links! I wonder how that happened? but I’ll correct those right now, and will check back on here later to see what to do next after you talk to them .
February 27, 2017 at 7:12 pm #57758Anna
MemberHeather,
it is really easy to do that with the menu links- if you set them in your appearance > menu , it seems like those two would lead to the settings and orders in the pro dashboard.. but they actually go to the free dashboard. 😉February 27, 2017 at 8:34 pm #57764Heather
ParticipantWhile we’re waiting to fix that issue, I have a question about buddypress, is it compatible with WC Vendors Pro? I’d like to add it but am terrified at this point to add anything more that might potentially cause a conflict. Would it work ok with storefront?
(if you say it would be fine, then I’ll wait until this issue is fixed and install it later) Thanks! 🙂
HeatherFebruary 27, 2017 at 8:46 pm #57766Anna
MemberHeather-
Something in your sidebar was completely jacking up your site.
Set the dashboard to full width = works.
Get rid of your sidebar .. Jamie thinks it is likely the mailchimp code there, as it seems hackish. But to be safe, scrap the sidebars you have made and be very careful what plugins you are using. Use the MINIMUM. Only what you really need, and from reputable authors. When you make sidebars again, put one thing in at a time and test. But don’t use any fancy stuff there. And it really is best to keep the dashboard pages set to full width.BuddyPress is fun- and yeah, it is compatible. We even have some code to help integrate it more.
You can try your old theme again- but if you have any issues, use storefront.
And HOLY MOLY use a child theme for your modifications. 😉 So you do nto end up losing the changes you’ve made when the theme updates.February 27, 2017 at 9:22 pm #57767Heather
ParticipantThank you so much to you, Jamie and Ben!
I set every page to full width and got rid of the widgets and sidebar.
This fixed the photo upload problem.
However, When I click to change the store name and description on the settings page, I still get the “Please Enter URL” message when “save changes” is clicked.I am going to stay with storefront theme, and everything as is, except for possibly adding buddypress for the future. I will have to educate myself on how to use a child theme so I don’t lose the modifications I’ve made, don’t know how to do that yet, but will learn.
February 27, 2017 at 9:23 pm #57768Heather
Participantnow that I think of it, I do have that mailchimp embedded on another page… I’ll delete it and see if it helps…
February 27, 2017 at 9:26 pm #57769Heather

ParticipantThese are a current list of issues:
Only sometimes can we upload images from the pro dashboard
Unable to save changes after uploading a store icon or banner
Unable to save changes after changing store name and descriptionI am starting to wonder if WCV pro is not for us. there are so many problems happening. I’ve followed all of the directions you’ve given me. We’ve even gone so far as reboot the server, do a fresh install of the entire site, and even now, problems. You’ve been courteous and nice, but I am at a loss here. I cant use this website, I can’t launch, there are so many people’s businesses hinging on this. :(d please help me.
February 28, 2017 at 8:42 pm #57858Anna
MemberHeather,
Something– something is altering your site.
I am not certain what; but something in your server or install.
I will work with you to the best of my ability to get this resolved. I understand your frustration.
Please read the private reply below.February 28, 2017 at 8:48 pm #57859Anna
MemberHeather:
Obviously there is something really wrong on your install.
I do not mean this to be critical to you; rather, I am just declaring that, SOMETHING is really not right.
It *might* be one of the plugins you installed, and even though it is not activated, it is still in your database and messing things up.
It *might* be your host.
Either way, we have to do some more digging to work this out. Here is my email: annawcvendors@gmail.com
My skype: fervous.comI’m pretty sure the only way we are going to work this out is to work together to deconstruct and reconstruct your site one step at a time. I’d like to be able to get you to the point of your install being solid and WC Vendors Pro working correctly. I am confident that we can do that; I know it works. If it requires a host switch, then we need to figure that out.
Please connect with me via Skype; if you do not use Skype, then let me know and we will see how else we can connect.
February 28, 2017 at 8:51 pm #57860Heather
ParticipantI’m sorry, I don’t skype. I am so sorry for all of these issues. I didn’t do the initial install, nor the re-install , the guy who has the server did them for me. I only know enough to be dangerous, lol.
I will do whatever I need to do to get this fixed. Do you need a report of the current system status? or my c-panel info?-

February 28, 2017 at 9:01 pm #57863Anna
MemberWho’s your host?
No- I have your admin credentials- so I can get the system status if needed.
I think we are looking at a bigger issue.
Save anything that means anything to you on the site. I think we will need to work together and get you started with a fresh install. I know you have done this before 🙁 — but there are things installed that could be the issue. We need a completely unaltered version of WooCommerce, WC Vendors and WC Vendors Pro set up.
With a completely unaltered Storefront theme.
THEN.. we can go step by step. But I think we should do this together somehow to make sure nothing happens at all that would could be the culprit for the issues your site is having.
Plus if we do this together, then you can learn along the way and know how to do some of the things you will need to do on your site anyway. Or else, you’re right– you are dangerous. 😉
What would be a way that you would be able to connect? Email? Phone? Some other method of chatting?
And if you do not wish to do that, we can work here– but it will be a bit more difficult. But doable. -
