    So now that PayPal is pretty much going to bail on us which I’m really happy for because I have been furious with this company these past few years that I have decided to not give them my business anymore and neither should any marketplace.

    Stripe is a great addition, but Crypto Currency is an essential one. I’m surprised that there isn’t a plugin for adding BTC/ETH Payment Methods to WC Vendors. Shouldn’t it be possible with Coinpayments API?

    PayPal wont bail on you. They may change around the API, but all will be fine.

    Alternatives for BTC could surely be possible if your btc api provides the method for it. We could write it, but that’s a bit of a project, and would probably be a thousand dollar custom plugin for you, too.

    Hello,

    Paypal is just shutting down legacy payment systems. They have alternatives for most things depending on where in the world you care. The one big difference I see at the moment and please correct me if I’m wrong but I believe instant payments for vendors will only work in the future in the US with their new ‘Paypal Marketplace’ stuff. There is parallel payments in the EC payments but I need to read this stuff in more detail after I finish all our open issues and new code.

    We are actively looking for more integrations and payment gateways to support and integrate. Most of these will come once I finish version 2.0 of free as we have planned some big changes in how free works under the hood.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    @ben Why not make a plugin like the Stripe one but for Crypto Currency. I’m sure the community would be interested even if it cost $99 or over.

    @digitalchild
    I’m not based in the U.S. What is EC Payments if I may ask?

    I am excited to see what gateways are introduced in the future. Whether PayPal bails on me or not I’m done with them.

    @ebookgiant I think Jamie is referring to PayPal Express Checkout Parallel Payments:

    https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/express-checkout/ht_ec-parallelPayments/

    @digitalchild
    Using PayPal EC for Parallel Payments looks like the way forward. Popular marketplaces like zibbit.com and folksy.com both currently use this method.

    Hey Jamie.

    Are you guys working on a PayPal Express Parallel Payments implementation (or alternatively Braintree?) – as far as I can see / was told by PayPal, they are not approving new clients for Adaptive Payments… so I don’t know if that kinda puts a stop on our marketplace plans…

    Thanks,
    Sean.

    Hello Sean,
    Yes, we’ll be making plans to integrate more payment systems in the future.
    PayPal is moving to depreciate Adaptive payments, but they should still allow you to use the adaptive payments.
    Did you apply?

    We also use Stripe with our Stripe Commission and Gateway plugin: https://www.wcvendors.com/product/stripe-commissions-gateway/

    Hey Anna.

    I called them and they said they aren’t taking new Applications… but maybe they are after all and just can’t say it on the phone.
    Will try it. 😉

    Yes – Stripe is great of course… only drawback is that most vendors will likely not have a Stripe account and they have to create one to receive payment… I emailed Stripe and was told about Stripe Managed Accounts – which sounds great… but that’s only available for Platforms in a few select countries – not Austria. But I guess at some point that could become a great option… or of course Braintree Marketplace. But that’s only US for now… 😉

    Thanks.

    @seangreen
    Understood with Stripe- there are some users who will not be familiar- but once they are,they generally like Stripe.
    We do not use Managed accounts with Stripe. We use Standalone Stripe Connect.

    Yes please try to apply for adaptive payments and let me know what occurs.

    We are definitely looking to add more payment processing options with instant or scheduled payments in the future.
