    *bump*

Even on my testing site with only WcVendors, WCvendors pro, woo commerce and Storefront theme my vendors do not have a delete option on their photos in the front end – unless there’s something I’ve not set up? I can’t see an option anywhere, and the only way it seems to access their images is via a product screen where you select the image to use for the product. The “backend” media page has the option to delete, but it does not actually delete.

My vendors are getting very annoyed at their old images not being able to be deleted, and it’s unreasonable to expect me to have to go through and delete out all the images every vendor doesn’t want in there any more. Not to mention all the server space we’re wasting with old product images for things that were sold a year ago. Since we deal mostly in once-off items.

    Any update on this?

I’ve tried on my testing site, which is updated to the latest wordpress, woocommerce, wcvendors & wcvendors pro – using the storefront theme, and there is no option in the media gallery you get on the front end product screen to delete the images.

Is there a setting somewhere I need to change? I’ve looked in the “capabilities” and “Product” form tabs and there’s no option there for disabling deleting photos (my vendors have all permissions/capabilities available to them)

The media library in the back end. The delete option is there, but it isn’t functioning.

With the front-end, maybe it’s our theme interfering with the front-end, but we don’t get any option in there to delete images.

I haven’t updated my test site so I’ll have to do that so I can change the theme and see if we would have the function if we had the default theme….. but the option being present in the back-end but not working is causing my vendors to complain that they can’t delete their images when they want to.

We’re having trouble with vendors not being able to delete their images – the option is there, but when you select images to delete and click the button to delete them, nothing happens – they stay there. Doesn’t matter if they select 1 or more, they won’t delete.

So “multi select limited” means it won’t let them create new tags (that option is not very obvious what it does)

I brought this up a while ago – because it’s REALLY REALLY annoying for our vendors πŸ™

It’s the note customers leave at checkout and yes all vendors see the same note anyway – so I cannot see why if they see it in their order screen, it cannot be made to show in their email. Because it’s not a case of being vendor specific, they all see it anyway.

Sometimes the vendors don’t bother looking in their order screens because they forget that the only bit of info they don’t get is the order note, and since most customers don’t leave one, they forget to go in and check. But it’s an annoying extra step for them to do just in case there might be a note 2% of the time they get an order.

We also direct customers to leave notes occasionally for promotion things we’re running like coupon codes that we’re not doing as an actual coupon code (eg to redeem a free item or something). Which doesn’t matter if all vendors see it in an email, because they would see it in the order screen anyway.

We’re not using commissions either, as we’re a similar sort of situation as Conscious Crafties (we’re essentially a collection of hobbyists)…. I’d really love it if we could get even a first step of the currency switcher for non-commission sites first, while work is done to get it working for those sites who charge commissions.

We just need vendors to be able to list and get paid in their chosen currency (and currently we would only need 2 currencies)

I’m having to run separate AU and US sites and it’s a massive struggle getting enough traffic/support for the 2 separate sites, which makes paying the 2 lots of WCVendors fees difficult on the small scale we are.

I don’t know what you mean by “these order lines can be dropped in your pv_commissions table in your database” – but we have the missing dashboard too (although the links to the order screen etc. are there, but the normal front page with the pie chart and stuff is gone.

I’ve sent some failed orders to the trash, but I don’t know how to find them now. We don’t do commissions (100% gets sent to the vendor). So I don’t understand.

Will the next update fix this for us?

I don’t believe there is a way (I brought that up a while ago). Admins have to manually complete all the orders. It would be great if we had the option to let the system complete a single-vendor order once the vendor has shipped.

Having the order complete once the final vendor in a multi-vendor order has shipped would be great too, but if it at least completed any single-vendor orders that would reduce admin time a bit.

We’re only a pretty small site, so don’t get many orders per day normally – but all the orders we’ve had today have gone through fine. So fingers crossed whatever glitchy business was happening, is sorted now (especially since I’m going away for the weekend so leaving my vendors on their own lol)

So far the ones we’ve had have been downloadable products, so I’ve changed the status to completed and the vendor has been sending them an email to explain what happened.

I sent through the report to paypal with the info on the times.

Actually, looking at old (properly) cancelled orders, it seems if there was no payment made, then it just says under the order title “Payment via PayPal. Customer IP”. If there was a payment made (even if the order says it is cancelled) then there will be a date and time shown there.

So that is how we’ll know if the customer has paid or not.

in reply to: Cancelled Orders via Paypal – Help! #65610

We’ve had this happen too. Not with all orders, just 3 (so far) out of a batch of 10 otherwise identical purchases and I can’t see a connection. Vendor had a sale on a downloadable pattern so we had a bunch of orders all the same, and all the other orders went through fine.

Ours weren’t at 54mins past the hour, but when I checked the times, I did notice something odd with the times listed on the cancelled orders. There is a time listed in the general details, and a payment time under the “order details” heading and an order status time in the order notes…. in the cancelled orders those times didn’t match at all.

Order that went through ok: order placed 11:13am, marked paid 11:19am, order note 11:19am

Cancelled order #1: order placed 10:10am, marked paid 1:48am, order note 11am

Cancelled order #2: order placed 14:39, marked paid 9:52 am, order note 3:39pm

Cancelled order #3: order placed 20:52, marked paid 7:58 am, order note 9:40pm

    — So checking orders that did go through, the times look right. The orders that didn’t go through properly have weird times. Maybe that is why. The time the order was placed I think is correct, but the time paypal is listing as the time it was paid is WAAAAAY out.

I’m panicking because the only reason we knew it happened was a customer emailed the vendor to ask why the order was cancelled, the vendor emailed me and I’m all “the system says paypal timed out, and no payment is recorded, so they haven’t paid” blah blah – but then the vendor checked and they were paid! So luckily we knew to look out for mysterious payments with no orders, then it happened twice again. But we get cancelled orders from time to time when people cart stuff but never check out (well, I’ve been assuming that’s it) – so unless a customer/vendor lets me know there’s an issue and they did pay – I’ll have no way to know. Obviously we can’t have customers paying for things and the vendors not noticing and not filling the order.

While you’re having a look, we’ve had a disturbing problem today.

3 orders (for downloadable products) were automatically cancelled by the system today, with the message “Unpaid order cancelled – time limit reached. Order status changed from Pending payment to Cancelled.” – That normally happens when the customer has carted stuff but doesn’t complete the checkout – yet the payment did actually go through to the vendor, but they did not see the order since it was cancelled. Luckily they noticed the payment and contacted me – so I went in and changed the order to be complete, so the vendor could see the order.

    The orders were: #10454, #10484, #10471

Just to let you know the shipping issue seemingly was resolved by just manually selecting the country table rate for the vendors. And the Woo team did update artificer, so that’s all good.

A couple of new issues, but I thought I’d post here rather than starting a new thread.

1). Any word on if/when we will be able to have the minimum/maximum shipping charge have options for National and International? It’s something we really need!

2). Although the vendors have the delete feature in the bulk select in the media gallery – deleting photos doesn’t do anything. They don’t delete. We’ve tried doing it one at a time and in bulk.

3). How are the free shipping coupons supposed to work? (they were fixed in this update weren’t they?) because I’ve tried making one – applying it to all products and ticking the free shipping. But in the checkout it says it’s a free shipping coupon but it doesn’t remove the shipping price.

4). The dashboard front page (that normally has the pie chart) isn’t loading (other than the navigation bar on the top) but the rest of the dashboard is working fine. I’ve seen people talking about the whole dashboard not loading, but it’s only those reports at the front not loading. Do you know why that would be?

5). One of my vendors I set up their products as admin, and used the pulldown menu in the product to assigned to that vendor store. But since the update new orders from that store in my order screen it shows admin as the “sold by” and the “store” is the correct store. (see attached pic). Older orders just have the correct store listed. I double checked and the products are all still set to the vendor store. Will this cause any problems?

They are getting paid as normal, although since they only stock variable products the shipping is coming to me. But I checked other vendors who have variable products (whose shipping is coming to me as well) and their products don’t come up as being sold by admin.

It’s happening with my site too – which is annoying since when I receive the payments I get charged a paypal fee, have to figure out who the payment was supposed to go to and manually transfer the payment to them (who presumably also gets charged a paypal fee for accepting the shipping they should have been sent).

So it’s costing not only time, but money each time in pp fees.

It’s happening on both old products and new ones added after the update. We’re using vendor shipping (country table rate) and everything is paid to vendors (all shipping and all commissions)

in reply to: Urgent – Live Site – Shipping Not Working #65155

We had that happen too after the update – I had to manually go in to their user screens and select country table rate shipping for each vendor, because by default the pulldown menu to select table rate or country rate wasn’t set to either option, and I think that was causing the problem – because once I did that, the shipping worked again.

in reply to: A couple of questions/issues with new update #61760

I set the site default to flat rate. But when I looked at what shipping method the stores were set to, the pulldown menu has the first option blank (the one already selected), then the options for flat and country. (See image) So I think that is why it comes out with no shipping.

Yes, unfortunately it is the woocommerce update breaking our theme, as I have the same theme on a standard woocommerce site (no other plugins) and it’s doing it there too. I’ve tried it on 4 sites and I’ve updated the database on the others and that didn’t change the image or title problem

I’ve done some screen shots to show what it looks like before updating (secondary “gallery” images are small and in 3 columns) and what it looks like after (gallery images are the same size as the main image). If a product only has 1 additional image it’s not too bad. But if you have lots of those images, it has a disastrous effect on the page! The problem is I know some vendors DO NOT bother looking at how their products display on the site, so I fear that if I ask them to only add 1 extra image because otherwise it looks bad, they won’t listen and they won’t notice how silly it looks because they won’t look at their listings.

We occasionally get problematic customers it would be nice to block, so it’s something I need to add anyway.

Any chance that categories within a vendor’s store will be added to WCVendors in the future? Some of my stores have a lot of products and rather than customers having to search through pages of products – if they could shop within a vendor’s store by category, that would be really helpful

A slightly related question – when the new per-order shipping comes in, will there also be the ability to set a per-order discount coupon code, so vendors can set something like a code to do a $5 off an order – rather than the per-item as it currently is?

With ebay though, sellers do list in different currencies – when I look at ebay Australia there are things listed in GBP, CAD, USD and AUD. The site automatically lists under the price what that is in AUD so I know. I can cart things in multiple currencies, then to actually checkout what it does is collect together things in each currency and you check those out separately. Eg it will collect together the items in USD and take me to paypal where I make the payment in USD to all the vendors whose currency is USD (paypal converts), then it takes me back to ebay, there is a link to go back to my cart to finish checking out, and I then checkout the next batch of currencies.

The vendors get paid in their currency, the customer sees what it will be in their chosen currency, and paypal handles the actual conversion. That system would work well for us if WCVendors could do that. Having the prices shown in the store in the different currencies would also show customers where the item was (likely to be) located, so that would be handy. People wanting to shop locally just go for items in their native currency – easy.

Why do sites like Amazon/Ebay and the like have different sites for each country? I don’t know. Maybe because of the reasons we’ve discussed here, that customers and vendors seem more happy to shop on sites that appear to be within their own country. I guess it also makes it easier for customers to specify they only want to shop within their country.

As for multiple WCVendors sites – I’ve had to set up a second one for my US vendors, and I’m having the same problem I had before when I’ve tried to have a US site – I can’t get the customers in…. I don’t think they trust a new site, when I’m completing with places like etsy that people know. While my AUS site has been around for 9 years and has a good reputation, it’s really hard to get that happening in the US. I’m sure if I could have everyone on the one site it would be a lot better – the customers would also have twice the variety to shop from. Logistically how I’ve done it is to have 3 sites. One site is just a plain wordpress site (with the same theme, so they all look the same) using ourdomain/main that hosts all the vendor help guides and customer articles and such that isn’t an online store, then I have a WCVendors AUD site (ourdomain.com.au) and a USD one (ourdomain/usa) – so the vendors have the sites based on their currency. The landing page for my domain has buttons for customers to choose to shop in the US or USA sites.

We have a massive problem with International shipping, because some of our vendors will ship internationally and some don’t want to (and our Australian vendors can’t ship to the US due to FDA regulations) – but there is no way to exclude countries (we use vendor shipping) other than to price it so high nobody would want to order. So I’m forever having to remind vendors than not entering an International shipping price doesn’t mean they aren’t offering Int shipping.

Yes – having sold out products visually different in the dashboard would be helpful for vendors. One reason a lot of my vendors prefer to use the backend view for products is for things like this.

A “view active products” and “View sold products” toggle/link would be very helpful for this too – to help vendors delete old products.

Also with the orders view, having unshipped orders visually different might help vendors who forget to mark them as shipped.

    1. So, shipping values that are entered in the front end forms in the store settings > shipping are causing this scenario: shipping is only being paid for ONE of the products if more than one of the same product is ordered?

Yes that is correct from what I can make out.

The majority of our products are once-off items, or items people would not buy more than 1 of, so it happens very rarely that someone buys 2 or more of the same item. The 3 times it has happened since the code was fixed, it’s happened to my own sale (I have shipping set in my store settings) and to the same vendor twice (also has shipping set in their store settings). However we have had a few other sales to different vendors where the customer has purchased more than 1 of the same item and those have been paid to the vendor properly – the most recent I checked the shipping and saw it was set within the product.

So before the fix it seemed to be happening in all orders. Now it seems only to be happening when the vendor has set their shipping in their store settings.

    2. Are you certain that they DO NOT have the β€œcharge only once if more than one of the same product is ordered” box ticked?

They do not appear to have that option in their vendor stores? (at least with the theme we are running they do not). And I do not have it ticked in the site-wide settings.

Backend meaning Admin? Are your vendors using the back end to list products?

Yes, most prefer to use the backend view (I wish we could have access to all the options there). The theme (Artificer) we are running makes the “frontend” (dashboard) view a bit complicated, so many of us find the “backend” (WP-admin view) easier/cleaner to use (Especially those already used to wordpress blogs). Also because of our theme we can’t create variable products in the frontend view, as the options are missing. A lot of our vendors make variable products.

But I’ve tested it for myself – when I set the shipping costs in a product from my Admin account, the changes save. When I use my vendor account and try to enter shipping costs in using the backend, it doesn’t save them. If I use the frontend it does save.

    Obsi Dian
    Participant

If we can get a fix for the shipping charges not saving that would be good – vendors are complaining because they set the shipping but don’t realise it’s not saved.

Update on this….. Perhaps I need to add the fix JoΓ£o came up with as well? (Where do I do that and what do I do?)

While the update did fix most of the shipping being paid to admin, we are still occasionally getting it happen. But I think I’ve worked out why.

In a multi-vendor order today we had 2 vendors who had sold 2 of the same thing – one vendor seemed to get both their shipping payments, the other vendors shipping got split between me and the vendor. Looking at both products I can see that the vendor who had set a shipping price in their product was the one who got paid all their shipping. The vendor who had set their shipping via their store settings only got shipping on one of them.

(Thankfully both had different shipping charges so I could work out who the payment was supposed to go to and can return it – otherwise I’d have had no idea!)

Since most of us have the same shipping cost for each item (and because setting shipping costs in the “backend” aren’t saving for vendors, so they can only do it in the “frontend” editor) – I’ve been recommending vendors set their shipping cost in their store settings and overriding any within the product as needed. So we really need it so that it pays the vendor no matter where they have the shipping set.

The order notes section is the woocommerce order notes, which is for the entire cart. It does not leave a message for the individual vendors’ orders in the cart. So, if it was to show up in the vendor’s order, it would include motes meant for any of the vendors who had products ordered in that cart.

The order notes already do show up on the vendor order screens (see screenshot) – presumably all vendors will see the same message, but that’s fine as that was the case in the old hosting system we were using.

Generally the only notes we get are things like that it’s safe to leave the package at the door, or they need the order shipped ASAP as they are going away – or something that is relevant to all vendors. But the few times it’s something specific to a vendor, it shouldn’t matter that all vendors get it.

I’d actually rather the notes section at the checkout rather than being done per product, as they are not really needed for our products.

But some of the vendors have asked for those notes to also be shown in the email they receive for the order – as they often use that email when packing the order rather than logging into the store and checking the order there. It’s easier for them to notice if there are any notes left if they also appear in the email.

So I know I’d need to edit the email template to include the notes, but I don’t know what code I’d use.

Well we had the issue of Admin being paid commission on 2 of the sales that involved discount codes, but not the rest. It only happened once in an actual order and once in a test order I’d done — but I’d done MANY MANY test orders where it never happened – so I wasn’t able to work out what made it happen.

Unless it’s adding in items that don’t have an associated discount with ones that do — as all of the testing I’d been doing was testing coupon codes that were including all products, not ones only on specific products.

HI, was the commission bug fix added to the latest update? because I made the change to my testing site and tested it and the coupon codes were working – but since an update came out a few days later, I didn’t change my live sites because I thought the fix would be included in the update.

But I had an order come through a couple of days ago where there was a 20% off discount code set for 1 item in the cart, and the order paid Admin 20% of the other 3 items in the cart that weren’t discounted.

It happened to be from my store on the site, so that was lucky. But I therefore know the discount was set to apply to the one item that was correctly discounted and not the others (in the coupon screen I’d selected individual products to apply the code to). The customer paid the right amount all up, but for some reason Admin got 20% commission (we have 100% of the sale going to the vendors)

I’ve attached the order screen from the vendor view, and a screenshot of my emails that shows that payment went to me as a vendor and as Admin.

    (I’m using WCV 1.9.5, and WCVPro 1.3.7 )

Also – we’ve noticed that vendors can’t set a shipping cost within the products on the “backend” product editor. When they add the shipping cost in and save the product, the shipping prices don’t save. But if I go in as admin and set the shipping rates for them, it saves. Also if they set them in the “frontend” it saves fine. First off I thought the Vendors must have forgotten to save or something when they complained about it, but it’s happened to me when I’ve set it in my vendor account, so it’s definitely not saving.

I contacted a few of the services that offer shipping woocommerce plugins, and tried a couple of them – they don’t work for vendors.

Finding something that would integrate for the vendors would be great, as I’m finding that due to paypal shipping not being available (because the shipping info isn’t being sent to paypal), I’ve lost vendors and finding it difficult to get new ones on board – because they are worried that they won’t be protected from paypal disputes if they get customers who try to claim their packages never arrived. Having orders complete after all vendors have shipped would be very handy!

I had to go out for a bit so I wasn’t able to do the shipping code change straight away, but I have done it now and it does seem to be working! thank you! πŸ™‚

I’m trying the “2016se” discount code for the “Scarlet Eve” store, on the following products

    http://www.clothpadshop.com.au/cloth/shop/peace-tiny-pad/ ($7 product)
    http://www.clothpadshop.com.au/cloth/shop/pad-booster/ ($5 product)

I was testing with those because I had that store’s discount code in the system.

If you want to change prices, code amounts or anything to help test things, please feel free.

Ohh! deleted. That plugin gets automatically added from my host (along with their own optimising plugin).

I tried changing the coupon to After, same problem πŸ™ I was hoping that would have been it, as that would be an easy fix πŸ˜€

I tried a 15% discount on a $5 and $7 item – I could purchase the $5 item, but the $7 item gave the paypal error.
