Thanks Ben, does drop mean delete?

I reinstalled from back up so I can try to cancel the orders now rather than delete. The only place I can see ‘cancel order’ is in wp-admin where I see all the orders and can select ‘cancel’ from dropdown. I have done this and I see the red cross in a circle next to the order which says cancelled. The problem is the orders are still visible from the vendor dashboard. Can I delete them so they aren’t visible without going in to phpmyadmin?

I haven’t tried ‘move order to bin’ in case it causes more problems.

I’m getting this error for each of the 16 orders: wp-content/plugins/wc-vendors-pro/public/class-wcvendors-pro-reports-controller.php on line 259

I’ve deleted everything inside: wp_enwoocommerce_order_items and wp_enwoocommerce_order_itemmeta but still having problems..

This is the theme developer’s response: ‘There is a need for a loop because you have more vendors and for each vendor it’s required a specific header. If each vendor must have it’s own header then you’ll need a code which will generate that header depending by a given parameter, for example vendor’s name.

(they also say the theme is not intended for ecommerce but does allow archive/product woocommerce layout etc etc. they may increase functionality in future versions..)

I’m looking at this now which may give the solution: wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields

Also the KB article on putting it on the vendor dashboard: wcvendors.com/kb/pro-adding-advanced-custom-fields-acf-support

    Hi Jamie

I think I made a mistake – I pasted this as is into my theme function.php file and it crashed my site, all I got was a single line talking about a parse error referencing my theme.

Is it my theme being weird or am I doing something wrong?

    thanks

(Please ignore this – embed didn’t show at first) Hi Jamie, Was there some code here? I’m interested in removing the shipping tab too.

Thanks I renamed as you suggested. I heard back from theme developer (I also gave them a link to WCV), reply was: ‘you’ll need a loop which displays a different header depending by page id or product’s category. I am not aware of the plugin’s functionality so I can’t provide an accurate answer’. Also saying they aren’t able to do custom work.

So the solution is for me to find someone to customise this file in the theme?

Bit of a shame. I don’t know if there is a sentence that I can give to the developer to show how easy it is to make it work? (assuming it is easy)

Thanks – I removed the file as you suggested and guess what it worked!

    1. What happens if I just leave it like that?

    2. I will tell the developer now ‘your archive-product.php file doesn’t have the useful actions/filters I need’ and see what happens.

Will they know what I mean? ( I can tell you the theme name if you like – not sure on etiquette, it’s a very popular one).

    Thanks Ben – fantastic

EDIT: what I found was that the cost column had to be 0.0 rather than <empty> as it had inherited a shipping cost from a previous product I’d duplicated via wp admin if I left it untouched.

What I’ve done is have local pickup configured as shipping in Woocommerce > Settings > Shipping. (With the ID ‘local_pickup’)
Is the feature request to allow each vendor to switch this on or off via their dashboard?
My vendors will likely all offer free pickup so it’s not vital, but might be nice to have. (Am also not interested in cash on pickup).

Not sure the best way to group our feature requests for our own use – or allow people to add their support or vote / contribute costs?

For what it’s worth here are my current requests in order of priority – is there a way for us to collaborate on a single document or something?

    1. Vendor-specific notice on each of their dashboard to remind them of their commission % and payment frequency. Could just be one sentence.
    2. Removing Shipping tab – I know Ben has given instructions here but I tried & am reluctant to cause problems for myself.
    3. Being able to automatically deduct a % from commissions paid to vendors to account for the VAT I have to add to my commission deduction. (At the moment I will pay vendors manually doing the deduction myself and issuing invoice).
    4. Not having circular store logos but rectangular on the simple Free store header – Ben again has said it’s quite easy on the template but again am reluctant to cause problems for myself. I expect I could do it myself.

Thanks Ben for the quick clarification and on a weekend too.

The £20/month cost is painful but I might have considered it as it would give vendors instant payment and without the need to setup and link a Stripe account.

Anyway – I have SSL installed as it is so I think Stripe will be the way forward.

    Thanks again for your help.

Also interested in attributes – I want a customer to be able to add a fixed fee extra to a product (not sure if this is an attribute or variable or I have terminology wrong) resulting in updated product image. Unless this is possible already?

in reply to: No 'duplicate' button for vendors #28764

Me too – I seem to remember it was there once but I must be mistaken. As a workaround you as admin can offer to vendor when they join your site to duplicate the products which can easily be done with existing post/product duplicate plugins out there (make sure to assign them as the vendor from wp-admin dashboard). Make the copied products not live but draft and then at least the vendor has something to work with. Shipping classes might need careful attention when you choose which to duplicate.

Thanks – I get this message ‘Download permission for wc-vendors-pro has been revoked possibly due to a license key or subscription expiring. You can reactivate or purchase a license key from your account dashboard.’

At wp-admin > settings > wc vendors license key it shows as deactivated and says ‘If you are having any problems with activation, please visit your my account page to reset your activation.’

At My Account – I don’t see where to reset my activation. v1.2.3 is there as a download but I’d rather not do ftp if I can possibly help ot.

    Hi Ben

Copied below is the shipping-panel.php – would you be able to help by copying and pasting it again with the necessary text removed so this tab doesn’t show on the product page? I have tried taking out the ‘Shipping From’ and the ‘Shipping Policy’ and ‘Return Policy’ as these are words I can see in the php as being visible to the user but am unsure what of the rest to keep in or not. thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks – I found by making the height 35 pixels as written below the entered figures become visible. I will contact the theme developer but in case useful for anyone else I copies this from the Inspector. I am not sure at this stage what CSS modification written down will change that height on the live site to 35px:

What I’ve done is have a link in my footer called ‘Vendor Dashboard’ which links to the Dashboard – if the user has a vendor account they will be able to login and it immediately takes them to their dashboard. If they navigate to the rest of the public website and want to return to the dashboard, they just go back to the link in the footer.

Thanks so to remove Shipping tab:

    1. Copy shipping-panel.php to child theme folder.
    2. Delete all words in this php intended to be visible to user, keep remaining stuff.

    Hope this correct?

    1. Is it possible for this column to show the amount the vendor will receive for that order as a total ?

    2. If this is template fixable I’m happy to look into doing it myself.

    3. Could the commission line optionally show my take rather than the vendor’s % ?

    Eg:

    £83 Net
    -20% Comm.
    £66.40 Due
    +£17 VAT
    +£10 P&P
    = £93.40

Thanks – I know too many lines – if only room for 3 I might prefer to list the numbers marked Due, VAT and P&P as this shows the vendor what to expect as money in from that order.

    Thanks – got it.

I want to allow people to collect from store even if they don’t have a billing address in that country, so I have store pickup for free or vendor shipping as options.

If customer ignores product page saying ‘we don’t ship to your country’ and they enter their country in shipping destination, at the moment all that happens is it just shows store pickup as the only option, and vendor shipping disappears.

(Apologies if this is a Woocommerce question but) is there a way to have piece of text saying – eg ‘sorry we don’t ship to XX but you are welcome to arrange collection from the store’ or similar.

Or a more simple solution that will add a line to the product description in checkout to explain which countries are shipped etc etc.

    Edit: Found these solutions:
